To be perfectly honest, with most rads you won't see improved temperatures the lower RPM fans you use, I've found. Martin's Liquid Lab for example had the 30, 45 and 60mm rads from Alphacool on the throne together in his 800RPM test for example, except it was in that order too. (Ie 60mm was technically worse. Presumably margin of error at this point.)

Which of the Fractal Design Midi's are you thinking of? Arc or Define?
Either way, the Arc XL will be interesting to watercool.

A shame there'll be little need for it in the future, at least on the CPU-side.

    More pics, less off-topic?

Well as soon as you have enough rad area to cool what ever you're trying to cool, more will do absolutely nothing (it will infact reduce flow and make it worse). 'Tis going horribly offtopic though.. Love my case anyway .

Edit: There's only one Midi. I'll post some pics in a sec to counterbalance the offtopicness.

"Proof"? If he says he has it, he has it.

Either way, it's an Alienware Aurora, and they are LGA2011.

You should remember we've seen plenty of people post and not back up their claims.

I asked before he uploaded the image and I'm well aware that an Alienware can have LGA2011 in it, did you forget who I am? :P I simply wanted to confirm he actually had it, low post count + new account as of this month could mean he was just upping his post count to reach that special 10 posts point.

Hi Deltrus Yea the original image was way too large so I edited the post and recropped it some. Apologies.

I just made an account today with MoP around the corner and figured I have been lurking MMO for far too long now, hence the low post count. I certainly plan on offering more in the coming months. I upgrade my system every 3-5 years usually and to this point I have always built my own, but I was feeling lazy and didn't feel like it this time so I splurged a bit and went the Alienware route this past month. Overpriced? Probably a bit and I know for the money someone somewhere could have made something x times better, but so far I've loved everything about it so no complaints from me!

@innux I probably should have checked the pretty box and thrown SSD on it rather than mechanical but meh

Edit: I'll run some benchmark tests and such tonight and post em if you're curious when I get home from work.

Never heard of a computer builder willingly buy a prebuilt... much less Alienware, just because. =|

But, to each his own I guess, glad you're happy with it.

I am very jealous of this setup... This had to be very expensive with that many 690s and SSDs. Not to mention the rest of the setup

Alright, let's take a breather before this goes out of hand. Love and cuddle for everyone!

This is more or less a brag thread, and at times people will post setups that simply isn't theirs just to get attention. If you suspect this; ignore the post. Don't call the poster out by saying "post proof" or "you're full of shit" - that just causes unnecessary drama and who wants that?

And for new posters - we want pictures! I know there is a 10 post limit, but you can still post broken links and a moderator might very well fix it for you. Only got a crappy cellphone camera? We don't care - we still want pictures! Just remember to use thumbnails :-)

And if you suspect someone of trolling - always report them.

Alright, let's all have a good time in this thread!

To go along with Marest's above post, www.imgur.com has some very easy thumbnailing features and is the most suggested image hosting website on all of mmo-champion, by the posters, of the posters, FOR the posters. Besides, imageshack and others have pop ups, ads, and open up extra windows. How annoying!

to go along further, pictures are more than proof, and thats not the main reason they are asked for, it's because we have all seen this:

    2500k
    p67/z77
    7970/680/670
    H80/NH-D14
    HAF/600t

thats pretty common for a gaming machine, so pictures show others how you built your's and what makes it different, and may provide inspiration to others when they build theirs
