It's an external backup drive, freely moveable between computers or ready to take with me if I need. Also adding a 4th drive in my PC would be a pain, my sata power cable has 3 connectors and there's no goddamn way I'm running another power cable + sata cable for 1 drive -_- (though again, this is irrelevant because it's an external drive :P).

According to my order, 29/5/2012. That's 5/29/2012 for you dwellers of the gun-lands. Keyboard is going strong, no issues.

Been asked this before in this same thread lol, it's not sold in any store though it wouldn't be too hard to find something similar right? It's just a big corner office desk with curves and steel framing, got it for $50 because the owners were moving sites and selling all the office furniture. The right side (on which the guitar is sitting) is detachable so if I removed it, the desk would resemble the shape of a giant gamepad. I only just noticed that lol! o_O

@Xuvial I'm so jealous! I want a nice desk like yours, although I agree with Deltrus on the Ikea pricing. Where can I get a large, oblong/l-shaped desk that's decent, not made of glass and not $250+? I have a large glass desk and I can't stand it. Bought a massive Goliathus just so I wouldn't have to dust and clean it every day.

CHECK OUT MY SETUP W/ MY POTATOCAM 5000!

    Computer stuffs:
    I5 2300, 6GB DDR3, ASUS HD 7850, Antec 520W PSU, BitFenix Merc Alpha case
LG E2060T on the left, E2442 on the right

    Peripherals:
Razer Goliathus Extended Speed edition, Blackwidow Ultimate and Carcharias
Logitech G600, Logitech F710, Logitech desk mic that everyone uses, IT'S EVEN IN THE AVENGERS!
    Altec Lansing VS4621

    Other stuff:
Sony PlayStation 3D display, LG BP325 Bluray player, PlayStation 2! I adopted an abused NES but I'm still trying to figure out how to connect it to a display that only has Component and HDMI. There's an old Samsung laptop hooked up to the display as well, used it when I was troubleshooting my desktop, otherwise it's mostly inactive. Keyboard was massacred in a freak juice tidal wave but the laptop itself works fine, Razer Arctosa & Abyssus took the place of the terrible keyboard and touchpad.

I also have a few things I've always wanted to show off...I work at Futureshop, and I typically work midnight releases. After the Diablo release, I was allowed to take a bunch of the displays home!

And yes, that is a Premium Format 12' Stormtrooper. It will stay in the box forever and endlessly multiply in value, forever a relic of one of the greatest sci-fi stories ever told.

Also, that KimK poster was a present from a troll who knows I hate her. She has a Moustache and Goatee.

In Sweden Ikea is very cheap and I wouldn't call the stuff they make crap, most of it lasts 10+ years.

I think your desk is a bit overburdened, looks like it is sagging in the middle.

The Galant desks are $200+ but essentially tables. My desk, as much as I hate it, has a lot of extra features and such and was only $150~.

$200 for a desk like that is nothing around here.

The Galant desks are modular design of high quality. They have cheaper desks with extra stuff also. http://www.ikea.com/us/en/catalog/ca...kspaces/20649/

Getting a proper, big desk suitable for executives around here costs around 6000 SEK and above. I was for a while (and still am I guess) interested in an Ipsos straight office desk, 200/230x100cm. It's somewhere around 21 000 SEK, which is ~$3200. They can be found for cheaper, but then it's often second hand.

My advice to anyone looking to get a desk but don't want to pay a fortune; build one. You can get the stand/legs from IKEA or similar and a tabletop from a warehouse/timberyard.

The IKEA stuff we get here in the states is very overpriced and the build quality leaves a lot to be desired of.

It looks that way yes, but its actually just the angle of the picture, and how shitty my old camera phone was. That desk is dead level, I've checked it.

Ikea furniture is fine and good as long as you don't have to move it. As soon as you have to carry it around and pack it to a truck you start noticing how they've saved on the material costs and how flimsy most of the frame structures are.

I worked as a remover for some time and it was quite apparent that ikea tables and cabinets were by far the most likely to suffer damage in the moving process. It's like they designed the stuff in such way that once you've put it together you're not meant to move it ever again..

This may be getting a bit off topic, but like I said in my setup post I'm tired of my glass desk. It's 56' wide, 28' deep and 29' tall, and it gives plenty of room which I like, but the fact that it's glass is a big drawback for me. Fingerprints! Dust magnet! I've found 2 desks that fit my price range and appear to be decent from Ikea. The Galant is a lot bigger than the Fredrik, but I think the Fredrik looks better. What do you guys think about these two?

    Galant:

    Fredrik:

I feel that both would be an improvement.

I have a smaller version of the Galant myself, it is really sturdy and you get to chose colors on it. I really like that the legs are adjustable.
Haven't seen the Fredrik model before so I can't say much except that it looks like they use the same type of table top, one negative thing about it is that the keyboard can glide around a bit if you don't have good rubber feet on it.

    Drawers.

    I like them. x_x

Anyways, I think this is getting just a tad off-topic. ;p Maybe make a megathread devoted to desks/table suggestions? Yes?
