In sales yeah, in performance not by a whole lot (at first at least). The performance gap is getting bigger though for sure. Ideally, Bulldozer will place itself in between LGA1156 and LGA2066 CPU's, and I really hope it does. I know I'm personally not interested in a CPU with haphazard features, unfocused chipsets, and a useless IGP I won't use (1156), and I'm not interested in spending $400+ for a high end i7 (2066).

AMDs actually overclock higher than Intel with LN, and had the first CPU to reach 6GHz. In sane home use Intel however runs stable with air cooler or simple water cooler at higher speed.

Yea but those crazy overclocks with liquid nitrogen isn't really optimal for gaming though, is it. Just for overclocking enthusiast that enter competitions for it.

Also the new sandy bridge cpus can easily overclock to 5ghz with air cooling. I'm sure those crazy enthusiast will be able to get some crazy overclocks.

Past 5ghz, there's not much room left on the multiplier, and there's very little room to work with via the BCLK on Sandy Bridge.

you left out the first part of the post. Even then, 6ghz on liquid nitrogen isn't optimal for extended use. 5ghz 24/7 using simple air cooling is much better than 6ghz for a couple minutes using very dangerous and risky liquid nitrogen haha.

Pretty sure you can't work with the BCLK on Sandy Bridge even slight adjustments can really shorten the lifespan of the chip. I've seen a couple of people blow their chips messing with the BCLK.

But yeah, 5ghz seems to be the wall for most.

I figured it was standing on the high-end, seeing as it continues upward.
However, now that you mention it, there's some text beneath it, on the lower-frame.
I still think it's taller than its width, though
