So I get to the store, turns out they don't have the case even though the website at the time of the purchase @ 5:30 PM, and up until 5:30 AM this morning, was listed as being in stock. So whatever, I cancelled the case order and bought a Corsair 400R instead, which in itself is a pretty big bastard. So I get back to my friends place, put it all together, and the power supply which I have had for a while and has been working fine, is all of a sudden dead after I put it into my new case.

So now I am RMA'ing the damn thing, at least Sunbeam has a 3 year warranty, getting a SeaSonic 650 watt PSU and selling the replacement along with my Fractal Define Mini and my Gigabyte motherboard as well as some memory and an SSD. I will post pictures of my updated system when I get a chance, I have to wait for new parts to come in, hopefully by mid week.
You sure you plugged in both connections to the motherboard? Had this happen to a friend went to his house and saw what he did.

Going from a tiny case to a monster case... I moved my Hyper-V server to a Define XL from an old 1st gen CM690. Huge improvement in noise reduction. Ahh...

Looks good Asera! Any plans to do some cable management, though?

It's a server. That's the best I'm going to do with it. Before today, the last time I even saw the inside of the CM690 was before Christmas I believe.

    I don't think I did too bad of a job anyway. :P

The 8 pin power cable kinda makes it look worse than it really is because there really isn't any good way to hide it at the top of the XL. There's a big fan in the way.

Edit: That stupid M4A89GTD board is also pretty cable management unfriendly too.

Ah okay, was wondering why you didn't bring it up and right behind the motherboard tray...

Ehh, it still would have hit the fan I think. The cables on the 750W Antec TPN units are rather stiff.

Yeah the Define XL doesn't really have a spot like that for the 8 pin connection. The best option is the the grommet to the right of the 180mm "top" fan (which is a cool idea in theory, but in practice it doesn't move a ton of air and tends to get in the way... I can't tell you how many times after I first switched to that case I'd start up my computer and hear *TICKTICKTICKTICKTICKTICK* from that fan hitting a cable that shifted into it's path yet again... after going crazy with the zip ties I got it to stop)

But either way, I don't think the cable management looks all that bad, especially considering it's just a server. Everything looks like it's out of the major airflow, which is what counts

Yes, we even used a powersupply tester on it.

Nice stuff, I was going to go for a Fractal case, but NCIX was pretty much sold out of the Define XL across the country, which is the only case I wanted from Fractal. I checked out the Define R3 which they had on a shelf in the store, and I understand why (I believe it was) Deltrus said the thing has frail side panel tabs, because yeah, it does and the material quality as a whole is not nearly as good as the Define Mini is, it's a lot thinner and lighter weight. The side panels are probably half the density of the Define Mini panels.

Ok guys here is my setup.

    Computer
    AMD Phenom X4 840 @ 4.0GHz (max temp 65c)
    Corsair XMS3 8GB @2000MHz (FSB oc 25%)
    MSI GTX 580 Lightning 1.5GB @ 1.1v / 950MHz Core / 1900MHz Shader
    Creative Recon3D soundcard
    Corsair GS700 PSU
CoolerMaster HAF932 with HAFX side panel
    Hyper N520 CPU Heatsink

    Peripherals
    Razer Blackwidow Ultimate
    Razer Nostromo
    Razer Naga
Razer Carcharias (with dolby usb from plantronics gamecom 777)
    Razer Goliathus Extended

    Sights
    Acer 23" 1080p
Panasonic ST30 42" 3D plasma (no UI ghosting after long WoW/MW3 sessions!)

    Sounds
    Sony 5.1 (toslink from Recon3D)
    Sony SAW2500 x1
    Klipsch VF-36 x2
    Klipsch KC-25 x1
    Klipsch KB-15 x2
Monster XP Speaker Wire and Banana Plugs
Monster CleanPower (cuts out noise in the electrical system of my 70 year old house)

And for the guitar fans out there that's an 89 warlock custom, full mahogany body, thin neck, jumbo frets, reverse headstock, floyd rose, 10 gauge strings third wound.

Almost all of my wiring is monster, for the one reason that I used to work at Best Buy and with my discount it was cheap as hell.
