There is room between powersupply and radiator... I'm just not sure how to fit in something to mount it in there that won't take up too much space. I can make the rest of it fit with the powersupply being installed from the back lol, I just have to find a mounting/cage that fits in and orients such that you can install and uninstall drives...
Currently thinking of stripping out the hotswap bay of the HAF XB. It's a shitton of rivets though and I can't be arsed to do that today lol.
Just built this with a quick 800 or so, new to building, but love it so far.
CPU: AMD A10-5800K @ Stock
Motherboard: MSI A78M-E45
Memory: HyperX 8gb @ 1600 (2 x 4gb)
Video Card: XFX Radeon 280
Case: ThermalTake Chaser A31 Black
Power Supply: Some sort of 750W 80+ from Thermaltake or something
Peripherals:
Mouse: Logitech G400s (shooting), Razer Naga 2014 (everything else)
Keyboard: Razer Blackwidow Ultimate 2014
Headset: Some other razer thing
Mousepad: QcK+ Steelseries
(Only reason I seem like a hxc razer fan is because I got the mouse, keyboard, and headset for $100 in a bundle. Couldn't say no.)
I'll be adding an SSD, but given some frame drops in certain games, I think it'd probably be better that I upgrade this processor? And yes, I know there's no purpose in buying an APU if you've got a decent GPU. Got it for free.
Is this CPU bottlenecking my GPU? Because as far as I know, the 7950/280s are pretty decent. What sort of processor could I get to improve performance, without destroying my wallet (though not so cheap that it serves no purpose)?

My first ever build, happy with the result.
Biggest issue now is to find time to get back into gaming...

From what I'm reading online, that's essentially the best CPU that motherboard's socket will fit. You'd be better off upgrading your motherboard and CPU down the line, when you have more money. I understand you got it free, so not going to hassle you on why you got it. :P Are you opposed to Intel?
As far as SSD goes, it can help with fps in the sense of it loads things up quicker, so your CPU is working for a shorter time at helping calculating all of that, and can focus on helping get fps stable and consistent, if you follow me. SSDs help essentially with load times and whilst loading your fps can stutter about.
Here is mine.
i7-5960x
Rampage V Extreme
16GB (4 x 4GB) G.SKILL Ripjaws 4 series
GeForce GTX TITAN X
4 SSDs and a 4gb HDD for storage
Currently playing on LG 34 21:9 screen, awaiting asus/acer to release their g sync curved screens(soon! free sync just showed up on newegg).
@DeltrusDisc
Thanks, yeah found that out on THW... Will still probably just increase my budget to maybe 300? And not opposed to Intel, I haven't tied myself to an allegiance yet.
Any suggestions on a new mobo / CPU? Or should I take that to a different thread?

finally got a proper case (this is my old setup in case you happen to give a fuck)
Allrighty!!!
this place i make music, AND game
currently working on to get a job so i can get a 2nd computer only for gaming, and the current computer for music making
and this man-cave looks like this a cupple days before Dreamhack
And yes, it tends to be loud down there with a 100w amp (100w dosent sound THAT much, but they use them for arenas. Enugh to make you deaf at a fast rate)
Anyway, its more of a studio than a gaming area, but i am using the computer for gaming i guess that counts?
