Infinitas is a new guild starting up for Cataclysm, looking to take advantage of Blizzard's new raiding ethos for 10mans to get the most out of the game's top-tier raiding scene without the undue stress normally associated with 25 man raiding.
Who are we?
The current core of Infinitas is made up of skilled players who have spent much of Wrath of the Lich King raiding content together, while each of us went separate ways at one time or another, we decided Cataclysm, and the dawn of 10 man equalities, was the perfect time and setting to form our own, close-knit raiding community.
But don't be fooled by the aim at 10mans, players from the core have experience from everything from MC to Naxx 40, Kara to Sunwell, Sarth+3 to Light of Dawn. We raided what we considered the most challenging, highest reward instances to be the best we could, and now in Cataclysm we feel we can do that without stretching ourselves into a larger, more disorganized raiding environment.
Who are you?
Infinitas is, first and foremost, a raiding guild. But we understand that raiding will only make up 4-5 hours a night, 3-4 nights a week. What about all those other hours people will undoubtedly be online? We are also looking to build a strong community around our raiding team, if you have no interest in raiding but still want to be part of something, we're looking for you too! Whether you want a stable place to do your heroics, somewhere to secretly extort people for your professions, hell if you just want us to get you your Kron'Kar Annihilator, drop in a community application on our forums.
Of course there are those of you that do want to raid, and this next part is for you.
Cataclysm Raiding Ethic:
The release of Cataclysm will open up the option of 3 raid instances:
Skywall
Bastion of Twilight
Blackwing Descent
It is our current plan, that we will aim at one single raid instance for the bulk of progression, until every reasonable boss in it lies dead. To clarify this, if the end bosses (Nefarian, Al'Akir, Cho'gall, [Sinestra]) are tuned much higher than the preceeding bosses, it would make no sense to grind against one while easy upgrades lie in wait in the other two raid dungeons. We won't give up on a boss after 1 wipe and head somewhere else, but we won't persist at a brick wall while plenty of paper walls are around either. This applies mainly to heroic modes, while progressing, for example, Sinestra and Cho'Gall on heroic, we will be farming up Nefarian and Al'Akir on normal.
