Cata Leveling (Hardcore players only please)

The thing with instances in cata is you have to find there entrance first, ok you might say. Well on beta i wanted to do the vashj'ir instance so i swap out to where it was. Got there oh wait.. i couldnt take the portal down to get to the instance entrances i had to do a pre quest. And its the same for black rock caverns im guessing (tho you get the quest for there very fast) so.. you will have to quest abit unless you fancie farming BRC for the 1st 3 levels.

I'm still not sure what will be the faster leveling methood in cata so I have a few questions.

For a long time people were saying dungeons were going to be faster than questing. Is this still true? I have a group of friends that are going to try to hit 85 on the first day. We are all Ilevel 277+. So I would like to know if dungeons are the way to go with this set-up or should we be questing to level the fastest?

Since the official blizzard forums has been locked I'm not sure what the latest news is.


Casuals please don't reply. I'm a hardcore player so I'm looking to be one of the first 85's on my server. I dont care about questing / lore and such. I will have enough time for that when leveling my other seven 80's to 85. My first toon is all about server first.

Some info about me - I got server second (first of my class) to 80 so I am ready for the hardcore grind. I feel really stupid asking this question here but I got no beta invite and with the offical forums being locked I really have no other choice.

So once again PLEASE PLEASE do not reply if you are a casual player who cares about the story line. *I'm really not in the mood to get trolled right now*. I'm looking for someone who knows their sh!t to reply here (someone that has done hardcore beta testing)

Define casual. I'm nearly all 277, i have 10 lvl 80s (3 of which are all 264) and working on 2 more, 2 fully tabbed guild banks, all proffessions fully lvl'd with each specialisation (b4 some were removed) and saw all 6 yrs of wow content while it was still current, and even with that i dont consider myself hardcore. i'm a casual with alot of time on my hands.

OP, man, you are pathetic. You call yourself a hardcore with 8 80's but didnt even got a beta invite. You mistreat everyone and still want real answers. You deserve to be trolled, look at how agressive you started your post, and how even more agressive you became post after post.

You don`t even got to reach blizzard`s new forums, which are easy to find. You want server first, but you dont have a clue on how to work towards that, so obviously you gonna fail and if you get to be 100th on your server, it would already be miracle.

Just leave quietly and hope people would forget about you, that would be the best.

I suggest leveling at a slow pace, enjoying the various new zones as well as reading the text on quests to understand the lore of said new zones.

What is up with everyones rush anyway? People should enjoy every aspect of World of Warcraft and not only focus one thing, such as being the best, fastest or whatever. I would be really disappointed over myself if i should facerolled myself through everything and start with the raiding as soon as i could. Then I would be back to the same old raid farming as wotlk is now, off course there is new stuff to explore in raids as well, and "farming" wouldn't exactly be the right word either, but you get my point... If people would think about only raiding from the moment cata releases it would be pretty boring pretty fast, wouldn't it?

Seriously these casuals I know right?? It's like.. I wake up, have my hardcore breakfast and super hardcore shower, cause thats just how incredibly hardcore i am, then I go outside and it's like casuals everywhere. Just like yesterday I stepped into some casual dog's casual shit and I had it all over my hardcore boots.
THen I went to McDonalds and I asked for some hardcore coffee. And that casual bitch was all like ""what?". I started yelling "HARDCORE MOTHERF*CKER DO YOU SPEAK IT??" and that lame casual whore started crying and called the manager. I mean what the f*ck. Is the whole world turning to casuals??? This is so sad for us hardcore people.

OP, I am sorry. You suck at forums. I will explain.

First and foremost, this thread is not new or unique. There have been plenty threads about this very same topic for months now, people debating and speculating on the fastest way to get to level 85. I am sure, were you savvy enough, you would have easily been able to use the search feature to find one such thread. This would remove your need to make a thread about the same topic, which completely removes you from the trolls' line of sight.

Secondly, as soon as you use the words 'hardcore' and 'casual,' in a post, you bring yourself to the foreground. When your usage of the words is as you actually did use them - that is, when you refer to yourself as 'hardcore,' and imply that anyone who is a 'casual' player is lesser than you - you become an immediate target and the trolls will begin feeding on you. When you continue on to imply that anyone that cares about the lore and the stories and basically any other enjoyable part of the game that is not server first 85 is a casual and therefore inferior and not in possession of a mindset quite worthy enough to reply to your srs bsns thread, you turn even the people who are not generally aggressive on forums against you. Suddenly, you have brought upon yourself a pile of shit so epic that you will undoubtedly drown in it.

And third, regardless of what your subject is about, how legitimate your concern is, how critical your problem is - as soon as you say the words 'don't troll me' or something similar in nature, you have issued a challenge to all of the most clever trolls lurking about the forum. Some will inevitably bite, even if everything else about your post was flawless. It is the nature of the troll. They are aggressive creatures.

In summary, OP, you need to get your head out of your ass and think before you type on a public forum, particularly one as frequently hostile as this. Do not ever use the words 'hardcore' or 'casual' again in reference to some completely imaginary, indistinct castes into which all players must fit, particularly when your definition of a 'casual' encompasses the vast majority of the player base and is, as far as you are concerned, infinitely less valuable than you, a total bad ass motherfuckin' hardcore playa' who don't care 'bout playin' a game for fun, even though games were totally meant for fun in the first place. People like you are the reason why this game has such a negative social stigma attached to it.

You're half right. There's still server first for each class, just none for races.
