Best time of year to build a new PC

Taking into account both the cost it would be to build and not wanting to be ripped off (eg there's a massive price drop in certain components a month later), when's the best time to buy components for a gaming rig? I know different parts are released at different times, and you'll always save yourself money if you wait just a little bit longer, but there must be an ideal period in which to do it.

This past weekend was the best time to do it. Black Friday and Cyber Monday deals as well as some pretty good deals all of Nov each day. They don't do as many price cuts as this at the same time at any other time of the year.

If you wanted to buy parts piecemeal, you might find a full set of deals over the course of a few weeks or months, but then you would be paying a lot of shipping costs buying them separately too...

Black Friday is usually the best, yeah. Fortunately we are pretty close to an architecture shift between Intel and AMD, so older parts will get their prices cut somepoint after their launches.

Best time to do it is when new stuff comes out. For example, the newest generation of graphics cards or processors because the prices on old tech usually go down a bit. If you are not looking for the latest and greatest technology, then this would be the best time for you to upgrade.
