Desolace - Cenarion Wildlands

So as I was leveling a new alt I had to run through Desolace to get to the quests in Feralas, but as I was going I discoverd a place called the Cenarion Wildlands. On the map of Desolace it is emphasized as if it was a main city or dungeon and when I got there, there were level 85 guards and ancients. I didn't quest in Desolace so I was thorougly confused on the importance of this place, so I'm just wondering from people whoever quested there what is this and why is it so important?
