so, my question is, will the servers be going down on monday to activate cataclysm? or will there just be rolling restarts at 12PST.

at the most, rolling restarts there was no maintenance for Wrath release

lol you got me there, i been thru 2 expansions and i dont remeber(probably since i never play at release day anyway) but i think there wont be any maintenance iirc but again im not really sure

There was no maintenance OR restarts for previous expansions.

It will likely be the same here.

I really hope servers aren't down very long if at all with cata release. I want to be able to come home after the midnight release install and play away. But with the last few tuesdays maintenance taking like 8 hours I dont see why this tues would take so long.

the extra 6 hours of maintenance last tuesday probably was for cata so we didnt have to deal with it on launch, like they did when wrath launched.
