I am from the almighty Denmark But I don’t like our X/6 Rating system, so I use the system most American Top Critics use. The X/4 System, which I think fit more.

    OT:
    Sideways (3.5/4)
Very lovely and touching movie, but the sense of reality is stunning. The performances are striking, the script is masterful and the direction brilliant.

    Hotel Rwanda (4/4)
What a great movie. Don Cheadle is flawless in the leading role as a man who saves more than 1000 tutsi Rwandans by letting them stay at his hotel while their race are being slayed outside the walls.

Great special and visual effects, great story, but weak characters

Jeff, who lives at home - 7/10

It was pretty good. Deep, touching and funny at times. I was afraid i wouldnt be able to take the roles seriously because of their
earlier roles but it worked out great. This is nothing for the macho guy who eats nails for breakfast and laughs at misery. This is for grown ups

    Project X. 9/10

Love that movie. I didnt know what to expect but it ended up being real fun. (dont watch if you hate teenagers)

I warn you all, dont see it. Spare yourself the pain.
Yeah I can't believe Nick Cage made that movie it is terrible.
I saw avengers it was really good. I like how the other super heroes were the same ones from their respective movies, IE Thor Iron Man.

    Prometheus

    9/10

In short it is a classic example of a Sci-Fi. It is not focused on 'Action' it is not focused on 'horror', it is focused on the questions of what it means to be human set to a setting in the future on an alien world.

If you watch Bladerunner and rate it 20/10 and continue to watch it once a year like I do then Prometheus is a movie for you.

    Look at this list

    2010 Robin Hood
    2008 Body of Lies
    2007 American Gangster
    2006 A Good Year
    2005 Kingdom of Heaven
    2003 Matchstick Men
    2001 Black Hawk Down
    2001 Hannibal
    2000 Gladiator
    1997 G.I. Jane
    1996 White Squall
    1992 1492: Conquest of Paradise
    1991 Thelma & Louise
    1989 Black Rain
1987 Someone to Watch Over Me
    1985 Legend
    1982 Blade Runner
    1979 Alien
    1977 The Duellists

If these films are not something you enjoy, then do not see it.

However if you went in and took in the plot, observed everything that happened, and payed attention then it will be a great, and interesting time. I thoroughly enjoyed the movie, and I can see why it gets hate, mainly because it is not a horror film so to speak as advertised, there are not many scares to be had, and they are only small ones. In fact I wish it hadn't tried to fit some of the horror-esque in there, or at least some of the scenes like the one with the tentacle sticking out of the ground and the scientist touching it? He is supposed to be a scientist smarter than me and he touches it. There are a couple other similar scenes like it that will leave you going, 'meh, that is kind of stupid', but they will be quickly forgotten when the actual plot kicks back in. Now it isn't a masterpiece plot, nor is it bad, but it's interesting, and visuals are quite stunning (And graphic). Definitely worth a watch, just don't go expecting a horror movie, it's not a horror movie. 7.4/10 for Prometheus.

By the way Michael Fassbender killed at the role David, best part about the movie by far.

EDIT: Decided to boost its rating a bit, it's grown on me more and I actually kind of want to see it again, can't say the same for a lot of movies. It also did what few movies this year actually have done, captivated me, meaning it had my full attention the entire movie. For example when I watched Snow White and the Huntsman it had half my attention the other half of my attention was already judging and rating the movie. If I can judge a movie before it actually ends, then it isn't that great.

I am trying to get my roommates to see it with me so I can see it again. Because I noticed a few things which people took to mean something different. ie the opening scene, where was that, what exactly happened there? It looks like the Isle of Sky, but then if you noticed LV-223 looks the same.

Jeff, Who Lives at Home (2011)

    6/10

The story of 3 lost people waiting for the universe to give them a sign on how to continue their lives. The movie was occasionally touching, occasionally funny and the ending is a bit too over melodramatic for my taste. It was an ok movie but I was honestly expecting more after reading some glowing reviews online.

    J. Edgar Hoover:
    2/10
While there was nothing wrong with the movie or the acting or anything, it was way too slow and I think you have to be American to really appreciate the story.

    Warhorse:
    3/10
Like Black Beauty only with war. A few touching scenes and all - but all in all - it was boring and longwinded and filled with terrible actors. Though seeing the guy who plays Loki as a shorthaired blond nice guy was interesting. He plays a good guy much more convincing.

I thought Warhouse was trying to hard to be sentimental, And I was expecting the horse to start talking, like out of a Disney film. But the Live Show at the national theatre is amazing -

Wrath of the Titans - 4/10 It's just aimed at teenagers, and felt like a video game with end level bosses -

Cinderella Man: probably a 7, if you're into that type of movie you could maybe push an 8

The Avengers is the last movie I saw in theaters. 10/10 I absolutely loved it.

Wristcutters is the last one I watched on DVD. 9/10 I can't even describe why this movie is so great, just watch it if you haven't seen it.

    MIB 3: 7/10
Was really nice to movie to watch and considering its the third movie in a series, it is better than what I had expected of it. However, having all trailers beforehand as well as the inclusion of the time travel factor I was able to pinpoint and predict 90% of what was going to happen in the movie. Maybe I should stop watching every trailer I find : /

    21 Jump Street: 7/10
I didn't someone would be able to produce a movie as awesome as Hot Fuzz, aka action-packed comedy.

Jeff Who Lives at Home: 6/10
The movie felt rather shallow even though tying of the lines part was well culminated in the end.

    Paul: 7/10
Was a really interesting look at the visiting extraterrestrial concept as well as being comedy movie. Though I didn't like the shallow evolutionists and creationists theme that they tried to squeeze in movies are better off without such zealous debate topics.

last one I watched was Donnie Darko, Which I've already seen about 50 times

One of my favorite movies, very strong ending, brilliant acting and dialogues.

    9.5/10
    --------------------------------------------------------------------------------

    Martyrs

Magnificent, but hard-to-watch movie. The plot is great and really made an impact on me, even after watching it
more than once. It's not for the faint-hearted, though. There is some gore, torture, physical as well as emotional.
It's not a simple "torture porn" movie like the later saw films, though. It reminded me a bit of irreversible, which was hard to watch for a lot of people. Martyrs is leagues above it though, IMO.

    Prometheus 10/10 - Just amazing
MIB3 8/10 - Was interesting and funny, but i felt "the animal" lacked acting skills

One thing that sucks about being Australian, we get movies so damn fucking late! its not even funny. God its annoying! Except for Avengers which for some reason released here before America.

My personal list of the 20 best pictures of 2011. Just thought I would share I have put a lot of thought into this list, and it has taken me a long time to watch all those movies, plus an additional 40 or so, which didn’t make the list. Some were good and almost made it, some were awful and would have ruined my list completely. But here it is:
    20: Life, Above All
    19: Terri
    18: Melancholia
    17: Trust
    16: A Separation
    15: Tyrannosaur
    14: Warrior
    13: Beginners
12: Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part 2
    11: Take Shelter
    10: The Tree of Life
    09: Hugo
    08: Shame
    07: 50/50
    06: The Artist
    05: Moneyball
04: We Need To Talk About Kevin
    03: Drive
    02: The Help

Last movie I saw was MIB3, 9/10, mostly because of the ending.
Avengers, 7/10, because the actor who played Cap didn't do very well.
Prometheus, 10/10. I can't even begin to describe how amazing this was. Michael Fassbender did an incredibly job.

    The Other Guys: 3/4
A fun action-comedy that rapes the whole buddy-cop genre. Will Ferrell and Mark Wahlberg have some amazing chemistry, and Dwayne Johnson and Samuel L. Jackson have some of the funniest ‘cameo’ appearances in recent years. The script is a little wacky at times, and occasionally the acting is a bit out of touch for Wahlberg. Nevertheless, The Other Guys is a profitable comedy that will make you jerk up in laughs multiple times.

No Country For Old Men: 4/4
I won’t say much about the Coen’s masterpiece, other than it is a masterpiece. Also, watch it.

    Lost In Translation: 4/4
I am proud to confess that this is one of the best films I have seen. The beautiful tale of two lonely spenders in Tokyo, meeting and finding friendship in each other. Sofia Coppola wrote and directed this flawless drama that blends comedic aspects perfectly into the scenes. Bill Murray’s finest performance, and a great snub for Scarlett Johansson, who too deserved an Oscar nomination.

HP and the DH p2 was terrible. Seriously terrible. Honestly, it was a half a movie and it just shat all over the book. And the last scene, the "19 years later" was so badly made it was cringe-worthy.
