The Hobbit: Battle of the Five Armies: 4/10

I liked the first movie, I liked the second one even better. This just did not have the "epic" feel to it. I wasn't overly impressed with the soundtrack. In my head I just kept thinking of the feel of the final battles in LOTR: RotK... and this movie pales in comparison, it doesn't even come close. I was just simply not impressed.

Really good movie. Great sound track, story moments, Action was good and the dialogue between the Guardians was nothing but great. The only problem I had with it was the villain just wasn't fleshed out enough and the few times he was used he was portrayed to be unstoppable (that should have only come after he got the stone as Ronan was never that awesome without his hammer and his original fight with drax shouldn't have been so one sided)

If the villain was portrayed a bit better I could have rated it higher but it was still a damn good comic movie.
James Gunn said in an interview that the Accuser was fleshed out a lot more originally
but that bits were cut because (and I'll get his words wrong here) "people just like
seeing the heroes more." or something like that.

OT: Jaws- 9.8/10 Love this movie to death, I really do. There's just so little wrong with
it that I even care aboot.

It relation to GoTG I was surprised at just one sided that 1st Ronan vs Drax fight was. Of course it was too early in the movie for the Ronan to be defeated, but given Drax's build up in the prison scene (And having read about him online, where he was actually after and has beaten Thanos...of course the movie version did reference he wanted Thanos dead at the end), I expected him to at least hold his own...instead he got slapped around like he was just some normal dude. Yeah he was drunk but he got beat just a bit too easily, IMHO.

Mind you, the awesome ending wouldn't work if Drax was capable of beating Ronan on his own. You'd just be wondering why Drax was standing around while Star Lord is dancing, instead of just walking up and smiting Ronan. This way he has an excuse for hanging back, as he knows Ronan would kick his ass 1 vs 1

The Hobbit: 8/10. I'm not a Tolkien purist so the changes don't bother me. Thranduil was awesome in this one. Tauriel was sorta a bitch and i wish Smaug talked a bit more. Other than that I loved it. A bit sad middle earth is over.

As with the rest if the black mirror series, it's fantastic. A great take on a not so distant future. Well worth a watch for anyone that liked the other black mirrors.
Agreed - not a movie, but I highly recommend the unfortunately very infrequent Black Mirror series in general, including the latest special. It is like a thinking person's technological Twilight Zone!

I'm a huge fan of 2001, it's probably my favorite movie ever, but I hated 2010. It's not a bad movie per se, but it felt so unnecessary and redundant, especially compared to 2001, it shouldn't have been made tbh. I definitely wouldn't blindly recommend it personally.

Anf fuck yeah new Black Mirror, is it true it's 3 separate stories in 1 episode?

Yeah there is three different stories, but they are minor stories making up one bigger story if that makes sense.

    The Grand Budapest Hotel 8.5/10

This movie isn't for everyone that's for sure. Some 'weird' characters and camera work and the like, but I absolutely loved it. The cast it uses is just unbelievable. Ralph Fiennes is absolutely stunning. But there truly isn't a single bad actor in this movie, not even if they only have like 10 minutes of screentime in total.

I really hope everyone takes some time to see this.

    Gone Girl. 9/10.
Perfect executed. I have immense respect for David Fincher. He's makes Oscar worthy movies out of relative typical Hollywood scripts.
Many other directors often try to hard - Fincher do not care, he has nothing to prove. He turns commissioned projects into art.

The Hobbit: The Battle of the Five Armies - 8/10

I don't care about how much it changed from the books and etc, all the dwarf shit was AMAZING. I love the battles and I FUCKIN' LOVE THEIR ARMOR. Seriously, all the dwarves look badass.

Great movie, if I had to put the trilogy in order, I'd say 1st>=3rd>2nd. 1st is reeeally slightly better than the 3rd I guess.

Battle of the Five Armies - 4/10

Yes, I do understand that the movie was called BATTLE of the five armies and I've read the Hobbit book as a little kid - in soviet days it was published as a children's book/fairytale thing, but come on.... Actual story of the movie - 10%, rest is just a bunch of guys beating each other. If it was on tv, I would have switched the channel because it was boring. First bit of the movie was decent, giving it a 4 for that but the rest... I was just fidgeting around in my seat for a long time.

Good to see D&D2 and Babadook here, both movies I still want to watch.

Seen 'Wish I Was Here'. 7/10.

Pretty cute/real movie, but a bit too much of the "scrubs feel factor"

Equalizer: I watched this a few days ago, id be more inclined towards 5/10. The action was good but it felt like a meld of (robbert downy jr's) sherlock holmes with the 'premeditated actions' and denzels last (good) movie, Book of Eli, with the super quick/deadly hand to hand. Thats not the reason for my low rating, that actually brought it up from a 2/10.. the low rating is because, as mentioned, the movie is slow as fuck to get going and by the time it does i felt i was wondering wtf is the point of all of it.

Horrible Bosses 2: 7/10 - Watched this last night. It didnt have me rollin on the floor laughing but i did enjoy it. Jennifer Aniston, Jaimie Foxx and Kevin Spacey were a blast in their roles.

    The Guest (2014): 7.5/10

Man I would go gay for Dan Stevens. Anyway, pretty exciting stuff, it might have scored an 8 if it wasn't for some nonsensical happenings in the plot. It's not the most original movie ever, but it definitely delivered for a movie of that caliber.

The Grand Budapest Hotel (2014): 8/10

Breathtakingly beautiful and extremely well acted (by Fiennes mostly, dude should definitely get an Oscar nom for this). For me the pacing was a little too fast, I was having a hard time trying to relate with the characters, what with everything revolving around me so fast. Still, one of the best movies of 2014 without a doubt.

Battle of the Five Armies 6 / 10

Well, all in all I guess it was okay. I am still not a fan of the 48 fps and hope they quit the experiment with this movie. I am also not a fan of the weird camera angle that only shows characters with the face and half body, it's just too close. But these are issues I already had with the previous hobbits so it's not a huge surprise.

If I compare this one with the last two Lord of the rings movies (which I unfortunately did because of the war scenario), the film definitely looses. There were just too many characters I hardly care for. Most action scenes looked too much like a video game. Some plot elements were quickly finished so that I thought they can be left out all together, like the fight with the ring ghosts (horrible sound effects btw) or Super Legolas. The humor felt sometimes kind of dumb and off. I liked Thorin's development though (except for the weird sinking in gold hallucination) and I am kind of sad that it ended again.

I hate to say it, but I was quite disappointed with this movie. Didn't like the constant battling and didn't enjoy the over use of CGI.
Constant battling... lol. It's called the Battle of the Five Armies, what did you expect the movie to be? Did you expect it to be another version of an Unexpected Journey? To be honest I watched it in 3D iMax and you really don't notice the CGI at all, at least I don't. It looks good enough for me.

Anyway, I saw it last week and I'll rate it with 8.5/10

All you haters that think it wasn't true to the books, etc. etc. can go fuck the fuck off. There was plenty of stuff in LotR trilogy that was a bit off and some minor things that were left out. It's fair enough if you didn't like it, that's your opinion. But The Hobbit was mostly a childrens book, if you want to stay true to the book then go watch the fucking cartoon version of The Hobbit (1977 film), or something.

The battle was amazing, the dwarves are exactly what you expect them to be, I really liked Dáin II Ironfoot, and I loved how that dwarven phalanx moved into position, the music from what I remember was awesome.

I was only disappointed that Beorn was only shown for about 3 seconds, and was also a bit disappointed with Bolgs and Azogs death. I mean that ice scene between Thorin and Azog was a bit... shit.

Overall the movie was great though. I'm a Tolkien fan at heart and at least I can appreciate that Peter Jackson has brought Middle Earth to life.

This movie also makes up for the lack of dwarves in the LotR trilogy. ^^

    Babadook: 9/10

A great horror movie with some disturbing moments. Its probably my favorite horror movie this year, definately recommendable.

    Annabelle: 8/10

The movie was less about an evil doll than I had expected and was more about the thing actually possesing it, but it had some scares. I didn't really care for the father and the mother seemed a bit stupid.

Hoping to see the new Hobbit movie anytime soon, I've seen so many mixed reviews.
