I thought that too but it still didn't seem right. He was in a position where there was no getting out without fighting, the only reason he wasn't in the front lines was because the dwarfs moved their army in between the elf army and the orc army. But the elves were still stuck in between the orcs and the wall that Thorin made so unless the dwarfs stopped the orcs completely, the elf army was still going to have to fight and the elf-king should have noticed that. But even after he sent his men to attack I still didn't see any arrows. And we have seen in the past how good elves are with a bow, so I wouldn't think friendly fire was a problem. I will have to watch it again, but I don't think that a single arrow was fired throughout the whole war except for by Legolas when he was on the tower.
These aren't the spoilers you're looking for.

    Move along.

    Fury (2014): 8/10

A lot of people had problems with it concerning historical inaccuracies or whatever, but I loved the whole visceral and violent approach to WW2 which is so unlike Hollywood. It even had Das Boot-like moments, something that won me over as it's one of my favorite movies of all time. It focuses less on the historic factor and more on the horrors of war, and if you're ok with that, you will surely like it.

    The Drop (2014): 7/10

Starts off pretty slow, but the climax at the end is really good. One of the most underrated movies of 2014. Tom Hardy did an excellent job as always.

Just plain fuckin' amazing. Didn't expect jackshit and got AMAZINGLY surprised. The photography in this piece is just GODLIKE.

The plot envolves you in a way you can't take your eyes off the screen. Loved it!
"Ah... you have learned much... and learned well... an honorable battle.
In the end, I stood by the warchief, because it was my duty, and I am glad that it was you who struck me down.
May your strength... lead the horde... into a new era of prosperity..."

It would have worked better if the Nazis was portrayed as the superior soldiers that they were. Or at least not portrayed as idiots who couldn't beat one broken tank.

    The Guest - 7/10

Stylish film with good tension and a plot that is both predictable but with some surprise moments. The star/lead, Dan Stevens, who I never paid much attention to in Downton Abbey, was distractingly gorgeous in this film.

    Fury - 6.5/10

The tank battles were something I hadn't seen before (WWII tank battles anyways). Those were exciting. I think I'm at a point where these old war films aren't terribly interesting to me anymore, though. Been there done that sort of vibe.

Live Die Repeat: Edge of Tomorrow - 9/10

A pretty flawless sci-fi flick. Great premise, great performances, and...yeah. I loved it. Emily Blunt can do no wrong in my book.

A strange mix of intriguing, disturbing, boring, and engrossing.

    Cinema: The Hobbit 3: 9/10
Did what I expected. Added freaking battle-Armored Dwarfes - which made the whole movie that much better! If this movie wouldnt have 3 sequels and 2 sequels it wouldnt work. But considering the rich Tolkien-Universe I got what I wanted and left the cinema sad that this is the last movie for a while feat. Dwarfs beeing awesome.
I still rave about that Warhammer-Dwarf with his Battle-Hammer and armored Boar. Crazy awesome.

Home: Rise of the Guardians: 8/10
Surprised me quite a bit. My sister showed me this one and we watched it with some beers and pizza - very entertaining and I had quite a few laughs along the way. Very nice and still family-friendly.

    Predestination: 6.5/10

Sarah Snook stole the show, but by the end of it, I just didn't care. I think the Spierig brothers are becoming better directors though. I really think the deserve more chances.

Best monster/found footage movie I've seen in a loooooooooooooong fucking time.

    The Equalizer: 9/10.
Best movie I've seen Denzel in for a long while.
And I saw, and behold, a pale horse: and he that sat upon him, his name was Death; and Hades followed with him. And there was given unto them authority over the fourth part of the earth, to kill with sword, and with famine, and with death, and by the wild beasts of the earth.

I love musicals... and I came in here to give it a 5 or 6/10. It had very little wit,
the songs mostly sounded the same, and the pacing was dreadful. It felt every
second and more of it's 124 minutes. As a friend of mine said "It's a very musical
musical, but I don't remember a single line except 'Into the woods!'" Which is aboot
right, it's repeated in nearly every song around ten times. All-in-all it was just such
    wasted potential.

    Into the Woods (2014)- 5.5/10

And I went to see Fury a few days later, which I thoroughly enjoyed. It may not have been
wholly accurate, but the visceral and rapid nature of the film won me over. Plus, Shia Labeouf
was in it and he managed to make me not hate him, so that's a plus.

    Fury (2014) - 8.8/10

Birdman: 8.5 / 10. Fabulous camera work, acting and dialogue. The very last... minute or so of the movie annoyed me and felt unnecessary, but didn't really ruin anything for me.

Most Nazi soldiers were idiots who randomly ran into fire by 1945 since they had no formal training.

I just watched that too, and I will also give it a 9/10. Great action, great story, and I hope there is a second one. My only gripe is how Chloe Moretz wasn't wearing a purple wig and killing everyone along side Denzel.

    The interview 9/10

One of the funniest movies i've seen in a long time. If you liked pineapple express, you'll love this one. Rogen and Franco do an excellent job.
