    Saw Mission Impossible: Rogue Nation.

As an action movie, I don't see what more you could want. The action scenes are all good and the way they're linked together is good. There's always something interesting happening on the screen, and the plot is fun.

As a movie, mmmm. There were some cliche's and they do use some of the tricks over again in a way that makes it predictable instead of surprising but it's not horrible...it fits in line with the series. I will say that it's good that it's fast paced, but if you look away from the screen for a second they're already at a new place. That's not bad, but it does require attention.

As far as people in this thread saying things are unbelievable or that Ethan Hunt can't die...I don't think anything was too hard to believe. It really isn't difficult to close your eyes and suspend your disbelief. Part of that is because the movie isn't doing horribly bad things, and...it's Mission Impossible 5...what do you think is gonna happen lol. It's like they're in that spot where they don't have to explain everything and people know enough to just go with it so they can just do their thing.

It's an 8.5/10 if we grade it as an action/adventure movie. I truly recommend it if that's the style of movie you like. (Which I think it a majority of movie goers.)

As a movie, I'll give it 6.75/10. It's still good and fun, for the reasons I mentioned it has some flaws.

Mad Max - 9/10 I loved how crazy they were, cars were badass, characters were badass, and one of the only reasons im not giving it a 10 is because I could hardly understand the few words they said.

Gone Girl: 8/10. Went in blind and didn't expect anything, had never read the book and stayed clear of spoilers. Can't really talk about the movie without spoiling it but I adore it in every way.

Nightmare on Elm Street (Original): 6/10. Was not afraid of it when I first saw it in the 90's, still not afraid. Never been one to enjoy meaningless killing of characters and the ending is just as cringeworthy now as I thought it was back then. It doesn't frighten me one bit. Gonna watch Hellraiser (first one) and hoping that one will scare me but I doubt it. I'm just humoring my sisters and their love for outdated movies at this point.

Mad Max: Fury Road: 7.5/10. Loved the craziness, the guitar, drums, music and action but the story could have been a bit more fleshed out. I wanted to know more about the societies. I refuse to watch the originals (Mel Gibson can go die in a fire kthx) so am hoping that the sequel to Fury Road will bring more story. Pleasantly surprised with the movie, thought I'd hate it.

Movie I am looking forward to the most right now: Legend with Tom Hardy. Oh, and The Gift!!!

Ex Machina (2015): 8/10 the movie is overall good, but after seen so many others from the same genre (ghost in the shell, i robot, I.A.), i've felt it didn't provide too much new content, so i was a bit dissapointed on that, maybe i was expecting too much from it, but besides that, the movie is interesting to see if you're into artificial intelligence/robots/computers/existencial-consciuosness theories

Chappie: 2/10 you reaaally need to suspend your disbelief to consider keep watching the movie, too many things are off the hook, for example: the guy gets kidnapped, how can they let him go away? and then he comes back?? really??, also hugh jackman being one of the worst villains i've seen.

Napoleon Dynamite... Yea I know, I've been in a coma for the last 10 years... okay?

9/10 for being completely fresh. There's no real story to it and an intentional lack of popular culture references which definitely adds a charm to it. I didn't find it sidesplittingly funny, I just found the characters very enjoyable to watch. The end scene is very out of place and a fantastic surprise that made me rewind it instantly just to watch it again.

Absolutely a must watch for anyone.

Straight Outta Compton: 9/10. It was everything I was expecting and more. The acting was fantastic, but the pacing did feel a little weird, especially towards the end.

    Mad Max Fury Road.

A story so deep it could fit on a candy wrapping, and as believable as a Ghost Hunters episode. A world that makes about as much sense as what my 10 year old niece could write. Character's development about as convincing as Steven Seagal's acting.

But that's not what the movie is about. It's about showing big trucks and flamethrowers and bombs and shootings and booms and crazy people being crazy.

And it definitely delivers on that 2nd part. 7/10.

(And still a better love story than Twilight too)

    Just saw Terminator Genesys.

If you've seen the other movies, then this is like an 8/10. The action is there but the setting isn't as retarded as the other movies, so it's not as depressing. Plot is okay. I mean, doesn't really make sense why the timeline changed this time...it can't be that every time Kyle Reese goes back this happens...I guess if they explain shit in sequels it may be okay but currently it's unbelievable. It's actually rather refreshing, plot-wise, too.

If you haven't seen the other movies then the intro/setting isn't really enough to make you feel why the cause is so important and some of the humor is probably lost on you. This isn't REALLY a sequel so I'm not gonna blame newer people watching this and not the rest of the franchise. As such, it's maybe a 4/10 if you're new to Terminator. Not a bad action flick but if you're not into the universe then you lose appreciation.

Oh yeah, by the way. My one major problem with the movie is that Sarah Connor was really fucking annoying. You'd think after being portrayed as the tough independent great women she was and raised John to be, especially after her childhood in the movie, she wouldn't be so dense or whiny. I can see why the character has motivations like that but it just comes off as bothersome. Maybe it's the actor.

    Avengers 2 - 6/10

Such a let down compared to the first one. It's just so boring. They should of axed Hawkeye (dreadful character) and cut out about an hour of padding. I also can't stand the "must save this bus / car / elevator load of people" thing they do during fight scenes, and when they focus in on a random child that needs saving, it's so cliche.

Considering that her character in Game of Thrones is also an independent strong woman (or so she and everyone around her says) while there always is this atmosphere of whiny and obliviousness around her, I'm going to go ahead and say it's the actor.

Her storyline is one of the least interesting overall because nothing happens.

Things does happen, just not the one thing you want.

    Predestination (2014) - 7/10
Well... it's... good, but... pretty crazy, timey-wimey and it's hard to know how everything ties together. It's interesting, but is clearly based on a short story, and it seems like it was written by someone who thought "well, wouldn't that be some effed up time travel plot?"

I can tell you what it wasn't. It wasn't the Fantastic F*cking Four!

It was, however, the latest Mission Impossible. A little over the top, but what fifth movie in the series wouldn't be at this point? And they did seem to try to recapture some of the magic of the first film, except the part where the first film gave away the ending in the goddam trailer! But I digress. Good movie, fun, 8/10 easy.

Seventh Son 6/10 Storyline was pretty good, the characters were awesome, landscape was beautiful and well shot, but the fight scenes were pretty awful. I hate movies where the fight scenes last like 10 seconds. They could have done so much more with the bad guys.

Hitman: Agent 47: 5 ~ 10 Not good. Not terrible. Mostly just... dumb. Friend looked the part and was decent, but he and Ware lacked the chemistry of Olyphant and Kurylenko from the first film. Their interactions were pretty bland. The action was done a little bit better than last time, though. Genetic precog Ware and subdermal titanium Quinto - Wolverine armor bullshit was kind of dumb. Attack of the clone ending was kind of dumb. Mid-credits Spock lives stinger was kind of dumb. Watch it when it's on cable and you're too hungover to reach the remote.

    Man of Steel: 4/10.

So it took me a while to get around to watching this and I was already aware of the lukewarm reception it got. I tried to ignore that but I still found the movie bland and boring. The fights were boring. There was no characterization and it seemed like the whole movie was just 2 and a half hours of artsy cinematography. "Cut to this awesome view of the sun!" "Cut to that awesome view of the sun!"

Like, Clark learns he's from Krypton and he's like "yeah, whatever, okay." He hardly reacts. I mean, I'd be all sorts of put out if I found out I was an alien. But he may as well have been informed that his favorite gerbil was dead.

And every fight scene was "Supes pile drives Zod, building collapses. Now Zod pile drives Supes, building collapses." Like, come on. Boring.

And at the end, after hardly any real relationship building with Clark, Lois suddenly kisses him. Like really? We're just going to skip the romance and go straight to the kiss?

Enemy: 8/10 Unique movie, entertaining but was very confused by the end. Watched this video however https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=v9AWkqRwd1I and everything made sense. Very good movie worth watching.

Locke: 8/10 Unique movie, the entire movie is a guy driving down a highway answering phone calls. How could it be a good movie you ask? You'll have to watch to find out. Definitely worth watching.

Chef: 9/10 Really good cast, really good movie.

At the recommendation of people in this thread and some other thread about good scary movies, today I had some time to see It Follows.

It's a scary movie in the sense that it creates an uncomfortable atmosphere instead of jump scares, which is nice. It actually was a bit creepy. The monster being there and moving slowly is scarier than monsters that pop out and randomly attack. It always being there and the dumb main characters watching it and being that near to it is terrifying. Especially when you can see it but you're not it's target so you're not afraid to be near it. Although it's truly scary when the pace of it's walking gets quicker, or it gets smart and starts throwing stuff to harrass people. Since it just walks you assume it's dumb, but then it does stuff like that and the fact that it has intelligence is realllly creepy. But the most fun parts to me where when the characters were in the open world and random people in the background would be there walking.

On one hand, the production is really nice because camera angles and stuff in the background matters. There are some cool scenes where the perspective is fun to watch.

On the bad side, it actually feels like a low budget movie at times because of the random nudity/sex and even the backgrounds give off a low budget feel. It was also hard to feel the desperation from the characters at times. I know most horror movies, the people who don't experience things are like "lol retard I don't care about your imaginary ghost" but these guys were just like ignorant since they kinda did experience it.

The end was a bit dumb. Oh yeah, ambiguous ending, okay whatever. But the monster survived being shot once. Twice actually. This time it dies? A shapeshifting monster that doesn't get tired from walking or chasing people that knows people's loved ones and who people banged turns into a cloud of blood and they don't like electrocute it or seal the pool up or something? You would think for the guy it would be easier to call in an air strike or at least buy a gun and shoot it then to rent fake houses under fake names.

6.25/10 just because it has it's flaws. The atmosphere and tone of the movie make it a decent watch if you're in the mood for horror though. Moreso than other horror movies.

Actually, at the very last scene you can see a shady dude following the couple. I don't think that was just a little easter-eggy background stuff, pretty sure it was the monster.

I really liked this movie as an idea. It could be something really amazing, but the low-budget aspects that you mentioned did tone it really down, like the random nudity and the idea that it passes from sex (wtf people)

But it's a very nice watch nonetheless. I fucking hate movies that rely solely on jump scares and stupid teen sex jokes and this was really a change of pace.
