That's a pretty poor choice if you plan on getting through the instance in a timely manner.

ret for questing, ret for dungeons. Selfless Healer will be great for doing (ie soloing) group quests, more CS dmg = win.

Ret sucks now, not because of its damage or whatever because its just lame.

prot should be pretty easy to level as you can grab big groups of quest mobs and burn them down reasonably fast with little down time.

Don't listen to this goober. For level 80-82 this may work just fine, but 83-85 if you grab a group of quest mobs and try to burn them down you are going to get squished like a clothie trying to tank Lich King. Normal mobs get bumped up severely in the damage they can dish out once you hit Uldum and Twilight Highlands. If you can tank 3 or more mobs at a time without dying then you either have someone healing you or you found a way to cheat.
