    Destruction Opening Rotation

I did some digging and couldn't find any up to date information regarding destructions opening rotation.
I'm aware that this is the latest priority list from what I've found:
    soul burn
    soul fire (for haste buff)
    bane of doom
    immolate
    conflagrate
    corruption
    shadowflame
    chaos bolt
    soul fire (imp proc)
    summon infernal
    incinerate

But what about an opening rotation? How does it differ?

    Thanks.

I'd say that list more or less spot on. But, on some fight you could alter it a little bit to suit the encounter better.

If we look at ICC for example you could apply all your dots and instants while running towards Lord Marrowgar, so that when you get right to him you're all set to start nuking.

Other than that there isn't much to say on your list as far as I know.

I would think something like this:

    1. bane of doom (not affected by haste, pet starts attacking as well)
    2. soul burn
    3. soul fire (for haste buff)
    4. corruption
    5. immolate
    6. conflagrate
    7. incinerate x 2/3
    9. chaos bolt

mix shadowflame in there when you're close or mechanics allow it
    soul fire (imp proc)
    summon infernal

For questing i'd say: immolate > chaosbolt > conflag > incin until dead

I think ErayoEU said spot on what I was thinking in my mind.
FrizzleMe named exactly what I do while questing.

    Thanks for the clarification.

As stated in a comment on EJ, you actually gain dps by starting the fight with a hardcast Soulfire rather than a soulburn

Would that hardcast be before or after a CoE->BoD?

Is this because of the loss of a soul shard? If so, you can just soulburn --> soul harvest before the pull, the soul burn buff lasts for 15 seconds. You'll have an instant soul fire and three soul shards.
