    Mage Spec & Questions

    So I'm going to try to get into PvP this expansion. I've always enjoyed dueling and whatnot, but I've mainly been a PvE player. My mantra used to be, "If I want to PvP i'll go play call of duty". But, step outside the box you know :P

    I assume focus is used quite heavily in PvP. I use it all the time during raids to keep track of CC targets or targets of interest, it's built into my macros and whatnot. Are there any particular strategies to use it?

    Can someone explain our DR situation? We have so many nova's and freezes these days, I'd really like to know what I need to keep in mind when kiting.

    And the frost spec to play. This is what I drew up:

    I'm not sure if improved cone of cold and shattered barrier share a DR...if they do, that would obviously need to be changed. And I was going to go for improved blink, but impact just seems so ridiculous. I'm assuming it DRs with deep freeze though.

    And what glyphs are you going to use, assuming you are playing a spec very similar to mine? I listed what I thought I would use. I know I'll be playing with either a feral druid or warlock, so I figured the polymorph glyph is a must have.

    Atm iCoC and SB doesnt share diminishing return, hence shattered barrier is very popular. Some people like it, other hate it since it can screw your CC (break sheeps etc).

    As for glyphs, me and most of the PvP mages i guess use:
    Prime: Frostbolt, Lance, FFB (some like magearmor)
    Major: Barrier, Evo (can be discussed after nerf though..) and Polymorph (some switch to Icy Veins ex)

    And now about specc;
    Your specc miss some keytalents like FoF, imp Freeze and deeper Fire or Arcane speccing.
    There are generally two ways of speccing when Frost PvPing.

    This is my personal favorite, since i like imp Blink + Invocation too much. Most times when you're going for a kill including CS you need that final burst to get the kill, thats why 10% increased dmg is appealing to me.

    This is built around Impact which can prove gamebreaking. It seems to procc ALOT as well, i actually managed to DI impact by itself I put 1 point into blazing speed as well, some people like 2/2 there, but i actually think impact is better for most situation.

    As everything, the specc potential differs alot depening on what comp you are running, how your playstyle is and who you face.

    Hope this gives you some insights of the present

    Thanks for your help, and with my spec I accidentally linked the wrong window :P I updated it to what I meant it to be.
