We have done it both ways, waiting a few seconds to heal the group once, the other time the priest healer was pretty sick so it was just interrupted right away for achievement.

Usually let him do 1 tick so we don't get instagibbed, then interrupt.

Just make sure you interrupt his self healing (dark mending) and you should be fine.
