Afflicition warlock boss under 25%

Hi guys, I am new here.

Just wanna ask if people still use drain soul when boss is under 25% HP.
I remeber that drain soul has been nerfed from 4x to 2x normal damage.
However, I couldn't find any thing mentioning the double damage.
In talent, it only says drain soul refresh unstable affliction under 25% hp. And nothing in the spellbook too.

So, does drain soul still do double damage under 25% hp?

Yes.
Aff lock <25% life left on boss priority list.

1. Maintain Improved Soul Fire buff.
2. Maintain Haunt Debuff.
3. Maintain Shadow Embrace Debuff. (Should be done via doing #2)
4. Maintain Bane of Agony.
5. Ensure corruption/unstable affliction are up.
6. Ensure Curse of Elements is up. (5 and 6 should be done before you enter <25% hp left)
7. Drain Soul.

Is it just me or could drain use a buff, I mean I only use aff for pvp but haven't seen any 20k drain ticks yet where as, as destro I'm gettin 22k conflags and 16k plus shadowburn

The current BiS Affliction simcraft action list has 2) before 1) which makes intuitive sense to me given the importance of Haunt/SE.

The nerf to drain soul was only because the execute phase was far too strong compared to the rest of the fight.
It is still designed as an execute mechanism sub 25%, but now is comparable to those used by others.

Also keep in mind that Drain Soul will refresh Corruption and Unstable Affliction if you pick up the 2nd to last tier talent points.

I've seen 30k crits when at 337 avg pve gear, with normal ticks for me at 20k-ish.
