Who gets the procs when you sell a CD?

I've got 3 alchemists and just started selling my truegold cd and had a 5 proc and I gave the guy 3 and kept 2. I asked him if he thought this was fair and he said yes and we both seemed happy.

Basically just looking for some feedback on how I should handle the procs. I've been playing a long time but never bothered selling a CD so this is new to me. What are your experiences with this?

    thanks for your time

As the alchemist, if I got x2 I'd keep the proc. x3 I'd keep the procs. x4 I'd give two and keep two. x5 I'd give three and keep two.

If it wasn't agreed to beforehand, and they were only advertising to buy one truegold, I'd reserve the right to keep all extra procs.

It really depends on your personal philosophy. My thoughts are:

If you provided the mats, I have no right to them and I will wait for you to tell me if I keep them or not. (Most of the time they let me keep them, or pay extra for the unexpected bars.)

If I'm being paid for the bar itself (I'm making it with my mats and then selling the bar) the proc is mine.

if your selling the cd to him, and it procs 5, its still 1 cd isnt it, imo you should give 5. however if hes happy with 3 then thats good.

just be aware that some people can get very upset and call you a cheat for not giving him all your procs, which is why i dont sell my cd

Most of the time i just give them an finished bar, and 99% of people is fine with it, for the rest, i craft it there at the spot, if i procc, i keep the extra bars. (alt needs tank gear)

When i buy it, I pay usually like 1.5 times the amount and that seems fair (But Ive only had someone get a 2 proc so far, higher procs may be different). And I just let the other person choose what to do with the bar if I sell it.

The procs should be yours to keep. You chose your specialization, and paid/worked for it. They give you the mats for a single CD, therefore they receive a single proc. If they want the extras they can discuss it with you afterwards, but otherwise you have every right to hold on to your good luck.

I alllway keep the procs. And to avoid crying, I trade comp VS truegold (or wathever else) and do the transmutation after without being in group.

You just have to keep one of what you want in stock.

This seem the most fair way.

Thanks all for the input. much appreciated.

I think this might be the route I'll go.

I bought a few procs for my alchemy dragon mount, simply offered 200-300g for transmutes, and 1000g for truegold. Mats were ~950g, truegold ~1400g. So by transmuting they're already losing money. But, people can also say they will keep all procs, and that's fine.

Wait, if you proc a x3, you keep two and give one, but if you proc x5, you give 3 and keep two. I'm not calling your ethics into question, just wondering why you don't keep your share a constant percentage of the goods XD

Do it without being in a group, if nobody asks for the proc, they only recieve what they wanted to buy.

If somebody wants a proc then I'll haggle to split it depending on price and how many procs.

Best is to ask them how the procs will be handled before you make them. Since not giving them all can be considered a scam atleast if they report it.

If you get materials to craft 1 item and you proc 4 extra so you have 5 total, then you should give him 1 and keep the other 4 for yourself.

I always did it this was.

if the buyer looked for a transmute master then, i would say the procs is his, if he just looked for a alchemist then thay are yours

this IMO is the best way to handle it. unless the specifically ask for transmute then they're only lookin to get the one made.

It's fair to keep the procs if 1. They never ask if you were xmute master and 2. You were advertising the CD which is you get what u pay for, they can buy the xtra proc for a lower price.

Well, the procs wouldnt happen without the crafter's specialisation. Even if someone else provided the mats.
I've never seen anyone give away their procs, and acctually I havent seen people complain not getting them either.

Safest is to ask first how it's handled.
