go to stormwind trade quarter, there's a sign there that gives you a quest to go to tanaris. it all continues from there.

I'm guessing alliance...
Get the starter quest from the billboard in Stormwind or any other major city, then go to Tanaris.
Should be south west in the bushes of cactus's.

I got the quest in Deepholme, when I was close to finish all quests there, which lead me to SW.... from there, I got another quest which lead me to Tanaris!
