mutilate weapon speed

So, just got my hands on the tol barad dagger (http://www.wowhead.com/item=62475 )and it looks absolutely amazing, now I am considering using 2 of them but worry about how much of a dps loss using 2 slow (1.8) dagger would be for a muti spec?

I have never ever but a slow weapon in my main hand. I have allways been told not to by other rogues. So i dont suggest it

Slow to main hand and fast to off hand. Using a slow off hand would be quite a significant dps loss, since you'd be proccing less deadly poisons wich in turn would be proccing less instant poisons.

Since Dual-Wield Specialization was "removed" from Mutilate talent specs, the majority of your damage is coming from your mainhand anyway. Without DW, all a slow weapon in your offhand will do is lower your poison application rate, which results in lower dps.

Offhand speed is more important than mainhand speed. I would actually sacrifice a step in item level to keep a fast offhand. Mainhand on the other side I would be willing to deal with a faster mainhand if the stats on the faster weapon were significantly better than the slower one.
