I know this is a stupid question, but i'll ask it anyways.

http://www.wowhead.com/item=61344 (Vicious gladiator slicer) is better than http://www.wowhead.com/item=65166 (Buzz saw) for pve right?

The Vicious Gladiator Slicer is better than the Buzz Saw in every way, (stats, wep dmg, crit) all except for the mastery. Mastery would be better for PvE than the slicer's resil, especially if ur Frost, but I think the dmg and superior stats would outweigh that anyway. I'd go with the Slicer.

+17 Str, +11 Crit, +52.7 DPS!!!!, and +216 min damage with +58 max damage = harder hitting special abilities. You lose 86 mastery, but that is nothing compared to what you gain.

I was in a 5 man heroic pug and someone had a fit that I was going to roll on gear at all because I had 3 PvP pieces that were way better than the greens I picked up questing. I was doing more damage then him too. I put him on ignore and he wouldn't shut up to the rest of the group so we kicked him.

Usually though PvE players (90% of WoW players imo) will hate to see you in PvP no matter how good the item.

Throughout the end of Lich King this was me:
Me: Shows up to gear check for ICC raid with OMG 1, 1 PvP wrathful item and a ton of items from ICC.
Gear Checker: Tells me to GTFO and links my 1 PvP item that is better than anything I could get in heroics.
Me: Anger grows because 4 of our guild members quit raiding to go back to college. Woot for them, sucks for me.
