A Guide On How To Level Archeology At Level 85

Step 1.) First thing you have to do is learn the Archeology Skill at the trainer in one of your capital cities.

For Horde the best place would be Orgrimmar. The trainer, Belloc Brightblade, is located in the Valley of strength.

For Alliance the best place would be Stormwind City. The trainer, Harrison Jones, is located in the library connected to Stormwind Keep.

There are also trainers in all Alliance and Horde capitals, as well as in Shattrath City, Dalaran, and Borean Tundra.

2.) After learning the Archeology skill you will also have learned a skill called Survey. This skill can be used by clicking the icon that looks like a shovel. This will cause your toon to survey an area for hidden treasure.

3.) However nifty that sounds, the survey tool can only be used in certain areas which can be found all over Azeroth. You can find these area by looking at your map of either Eastern Kingdoms, or Kalimdor. The Zones will be marked by a little shovel, and in the zone, a portion will be highlighted. This highlighted portion is the only area that the survey tool can be used.

4.) Once in a highlighted area just pick any spot and start surveying. Once you survey, a telescope will pop up. It will be pointing in a specific direction. Follow the direction a few yards and dig again. Keep following the telescope and eventually you will pick up things called Fragments. The fragments can be different races in different zones. This can be repeated 3 times for each highlighted area.
5.) Once you have enough fragments for a certain race, you can “Solve” and put together your treasure. The higher your skill, the better the treasure is.

6.) Wash, Rinse, and repeat till maxed out

Author’s Note: Survey areas till your skill is 90 then solve all the fragments you have collected, because around 90 you stop getting skill points for just surveying. Each thing you solve gives you 5 skill points.

Archeolog is a very fun new secondary proffession, but make sure you do it in modertion, because you fly from zone to zone to zone discovering new artifacts
