There's been a Doctor Who marathon on TV all day. I watched a few episodes but I'm not really into it. Plus the World Juniors are on.

Doctor Who is an incredible show. David Tenant was the best doctor imo.
I love this special, it was so much better than the other ones. Hell, even my dad thought it was fantastic, and he hardly likes Doctor Who. Loved how they used time travel in this one, and loved how emotional it was even though the plot was a bit simple. The second time watching it was harder for me for some reason, almost cried. =(

Matt Smith has been an excellent doctor so far. Tennant was good for his whole run, and great towards the end. Eccleston is still my favourite of the new series.
River Song on the other hand needs to be stabbed in the face. And Harkness needs to show up in more episodes, or at least a few specials.
OT: The special was great even if it was another iteration of A Christmas Carol.

Also; the Christmas Special may have been another iteration of A Christmas Carol, but it's the first one every with a Shark Powered Sleigh, which wins it massive bonus points.
I thought Tennant was fantastic, and Martha was hot as all hellthought Donna needed to be shot in the face over and over and over althought she lived in Hammersmith, which is crazy close to where I used to live, so that's one small tic in her collumn.
Smith has had a pretty good run so far, his Debut Episode was one of the best I'd seen, very cool, and the following series was overall very good (a few excellent episodes, a few terrible ones) Amy Pond is an excellent companion, mostly because she's probably the second hottest girl I've seen in a TV show(the first is, and will always be Morena Baccarin from Firefly) while she's not the best actress, she doesn't really need to be, as the general roll of the companion is to assist the Doctor and look pretty, both of which she does flawlessly.
Sadly the Christmas special this year was a MASSIVE let down for me, it was an old story, redone badly, I've come to expect ALOT better for Dr Who, even if the specials themselves are usally fairly hit and miss (need we mention the Bus.....) I'm hoping that they used a semi-recycled script for the christmas special as they've put all the work into making the next series the best it can possibly befingers crossed.

I loved the Christmas special, I think though I was just glad to see The Doctor back in action. Feels good to be able to watch that into and hear the awesome music in the show.
thanks, yours is good as well
and what touched you and brought a tear to your eye? this years Xmas (not that) special?

:S really? I found it SO underwhelming, esspecially compared to last years, with the Tennant's farewell.
I do agree I think this season is gunna be a great one though, Smith really found his stride last year, and his performance in the Xmas special was the one good thing about it (okay, the shark powered sled was cool as well :P) so I'm really hoping for good good things with the upcoming season.

I started watching Doctor Who seriously with Season 5 and I love Matt Smith.
I'm just reverse watching the older Episodes but don't really get why people like Eccelstone. He seems a but duh.
I feel realy old now... since i'm baffled that only 3 are mentioned
That and since when can Daleks do stairs? O.o
He was fantastic
I love the manipulation of the time stream in the 2010 christmas special, and you also have to realize that the 2009 Christmas special was the end all wrap up for Tennant, which was 3 seasons of pure awesome. It gave insight to why the Doctor had to kill off his people, and basically killed off the Master (I doubt it). If you watch "Doctor Who: The Next Doctor" which was the '08 special, it is just another filler episode that's fun and kind of puts you in the Christmas spirit.
Eccleston is also my favorite of the new Doctors. Admittedly, I haven't yet seen the other 30 years of the show but I'm working on it.
I also like Matt Smith and the recent episodes, but some of the writing has had me really confused this past season. What's the deal with him repeatedly going back into his own timeline and screwing around? Didn't they previously establish that as a big no-no?
He also says he NEVER intervenes with any major time line.. and yet.. he does.
As for his going back in his own time line, its established that he cannot change his own time line. Only time this kinda happens is at the end of all time (when all rules are basicly gone) and when he is rewinding.
They changed lead writers, RTD left and we now have the grand Moff of weeping angle fame as the big shot. With a new writer comes a new interpretation and a lack of continuity, Moffat said something along the lines of "Dr. Who is unique in that we can blame anything on 'ripples of the time war' so it's impossible to have a continuity error". Honestly I found some of RTDs stuff overwrought and "soapy" but I find moffats disappointingly erratic at time and it lacks the serious nature that I like in my fantasy. It's ok to be silly but you need to have serious plot there too or it doesn't hang together in my opinion.
