(I could make a gigantor list, but these would be the three that got me into Alternative Rock)
Worst:
Oasis - Wonderwall
Oasis - Don't Look Back in Anger
Oasis - Live Forever
(I just hate Oasis, so their crap will always be the worst of Alternative Rock)

I usually use the Alt. Rock genre when people ask me what I listen to, but I'm not very good at distinguishing between genres, esepcially when it comes to sub-genres like Alt or Heavy or Classic or w/e, some are plain obvious, but it's hard:
I like Quietdrive - Starbright.
Not sure I hate any Alt. Rock song :P
