Cool Alliance twilight highlands intro? - as awesome as the horde version???

After playing through the horde twilight highlands intro series of quests (which were totally badass) I was just curious to see what it was like to play the alliance intro to the zone. I looked up videos on youtube of it, and it didn't seem very awesome compared to the horde one.

Alliance, what did you think of your intro? WAS IT BADASS? Or nah?

    ******SLIGHT SPOILERS(horde)******
For those that don't know; without spoiling too much, the hordeside intro basically involves you doing some errands around Org and Bilgewater Harbour, which is followed by a trip on the zeppelin fleet with Garrosh, when the fleet is attacked and Garrosh dominates a dragon. But yeh it is very BADASS.

    SPOILERS.

Well we run around with the prince who magically disappears half the time. The usual kill X, defend Y, collect Z whilst hes with us. Then a lil bit mystery solving work (yknow, go collect this and show it to me). Then kill a bossthing and then u get to ride a plane or rocket (cant remember) and crash land on a boat.

I think i prefer your one

Horde Version: You fly with Garrosh on a FLEET of Zeppelins when you're attacked by a whole swarm of Dragons and Garrosh absolutely smashes one of them. There's a lot of awesome dialogue and you actually feel like you're part of the action.

Alli Version: You jump on a plane in SW, the pilot goes "lol afterburners", you black out, then wake up on a boat in Twilight Highlands.

It's VERY clear which faction got more development time in regards to the Highlands introduction.

Neither one are very awesome. The Alliance version is considerably less awesome, but having done both I prefer that to the Horde version if only because Alliance don't get a lame ass retardedly overplayed 300 reference as soon as you step onto the shore.

Also, Alliance players tend to over exaggerate the "awesomeness" of standing on a zepplin not doing anything while shit is going on around you. It'd be awesome if you could man a gun during the attack or something but instead you just stand there and crash.

Actually, voice files and shit that were put in during beta and that are still in game for some reason suggest that both sides got pretty equal development time, but for whatever reason the Alliance side was shortened. It involved being on one of the ships that the Horde attack during their intro, judging by the voice files, but for whatever reason they never completed it. I assume because it was too similar to the Vashj'ir shipwreck intro and they didn't want to be repetitive. Which doesn't really make sense, but Blizzard often doesn't make sense.

also alliance is not allowed to fight the horde in metzans eyes

on a serius note having zaraki kenpachi lead the alliance is a bit OP imo

Don't forget that when you wake up, the base next to the ship is under constant attack - surprise - not by dragons or cultists, but by the same old imperialistic and back-stabbing Horde. Players then kick some filthy horde butt (involving being shot with a cannon aboard one of those zeppelins and blowing it up) and gather random materials, and the castle with portal to SW and different vendors gets phased visible.

I would have accepted the Alliance version if that had been the only one, but because of the damn voice acting they already had that was leaked, Im pissed we didnt get that, sure Flintlocke is funny and a good bit of fanservice but really, I wanted Lt. Fawks to be more than just an NPC that stands there and does nothing but have a unique name

Yeh to be honest before I looked up the alliance side quests I assumed that they would be on the boats, while getting attacked by the horde and then dragons as well. But it seems like alliance got kind of ripped off. Maybe Blizzard left it out after realizing that such a level of awesomeness equal to the horse-side intro was impossible to reach so they gave up :P

I don't know what your definition of epic is and I don't think the Alliance one was "epic", but I sure loved it. A bit cliche, but still very funny. And the follow up quests where you get fired from a cannon onto a zeppelin.... Flintlock's speech is just awesome.

You guys do know that deathwing is one of the "dragons" that attacks the horde fleet, right? It's funny cuz you guys are just like "a bunch of dragons... oh and the aspect of death."

When I was on the zep, I had three people in a guild together who had all race changed whining about how there's too much RP in cataclysm and they just want to "kill shit and level."

No way I just thought it was a bigger twilight dragon with black, firey makeup on. :P

Nah, was just trying to keep spoilers to a minimum, else the awesomeness may be ruined for others.

you get to be prince Anduin's "mentor" and he looks up to you because you're a hero and stuff.
you also save anduin from an assassination attack.

btw, anduin can cast "flash heal" and varian mentions him weilding the holy light etc.
anduin later saves varian from an attack in the throneroom using holy powers,
where u supposedly fight a twillight spy (alliance general that you confront).

    all taken from quest text/chat.

then you get on a plane/rocket that can barely fly, (think of donald duck's car)
with a dwarf that has a unique voiceover (he farts, burps, snorts and stuff..)
you appear in TH after you have blacked out, as he says. and the entire base,
port, fortress, and the whole isle, are under heavy attack by the horde.

so its basically: escort anduin around SW. hop on plane. loading screen. you're in TH.

If it involved Garrosh Lamescream, it can never be awesome.
