As I posted before, they're not really "weird". Maybe uncommon for consumer motherboards but from what I've read, pretty common for server motherboards. I'm guessing (and if a PC (semi)expert could check this) this is probably a motherboard that came out when CPU's were still only single core, and there were no dual core CPU's yet. Or, it is a server motherboard (but looking at the link I posted of the specs of the motherboard I don't think it is). And the RAM slots are where they are obviously because of where the 2nd P4 CPU slot is.

Not questioning your computer expertise, but are you sure? Seeing as the image is the exact same image on http://www.asrock.com/mb/Intel/P4%20Combo/ which specifies it is a combo of 2 different sockets (Socket478 and LGA 775). At least that's what the site specifies. Originally Posted by teebo
