    I've lived in TX, OR, WA, CA, FL, and in at LEAST all of those places, people have called them Quads.

    A - Quads is short for Quad Bikes.
    B - Quad is short for Quadruple, as in the amount of wheels they have
    C - Quad is easier to write, and say than Four Wheelers
    D - Quad is cooler sounding than "Four wheel all terrain vehicle"

    I understand why, but I'm just assuming that it like a soda/pop kinda thing. I've heard em called ATVs, quads, quad bikes, and everyone where I live call them four wheelers.

    Hehe. I was only referring to how your reference for an ATV ( how I know them as) is just as weird as "pop" is for soda (as I know it as). I guess there's actually a corrolation here.
