I've done most dungeons up to and including Zul'Farrak without a tank or healer but I haven't tried any past that point.

BM Hunter with a Bear could easily tank most, if not all, cata 5-man content. I've had my Bear tank Ozruk on Heroic when tanks could not and I did this as survival.

That fight is hardly a viable comparison, he hits like a chump and half the time he isn't even melee swinging because he is casting something. Also your pet has 90% reduc on his primary kill mechanics :P
