    My first Custom Comp

I am looking to build my first custom comp and just would like to see if any one could give me a nice setup for a decent gaming comp. I am looking to spend between 600-700 for it. I do know that i want a full size tower and i have done some looking around but want to see if anyone could come up with something better then what i have done. I wish to play wow with ultra video settings. Any and all help and maybe a explanation would help big on the build

Unfortunatly, I can't provide you with any hard links or prices, but your build should look something like this:

AMD Phenom x2/x4 OR Intel i5/i7 CPU, depending on your preference
A motherboard to fit either CPU
Either an ATI 6850/6870 or an Nvidia GTX 460, again, depending on your preference.
    4GB DDR3 Ram
A 7200RPM HDD, with the size you want, I sugest a Western Digital Caviar Black HDD
    A 550-650W 80+ PSU

From what I've seen though, an Intel + Nvidia build would give you a small bump in performance as opposed to an AMD + ATI setup.
All of this should fit right in between your budget.

the int i5/i5 are about 180+ where the phenoms are 80+

I'd recommend going with AMD, you'll get more for your money.

Thanks to Scythen for the sig

what do you mean more for my money? i have always had int pre built comps so honestly i dont know the difference between int and amd

if youre mostly playing wow, amd cpus offer far less performance for your money. I would go with a mid range intel cpu and cheap out on the rest within that budget.

well what would be a good mother board to go with a
    Intel Core i5-650 Clarkdale 3.2GHz LGA 1156 73W Dual-Core Desktop Processor BX80616I5650

how do you figure? Intel chipsets cost on average twice as much as AMD for the same performance. In some cases(the six core) 4x as much

Thanks to Scythen for the sig

any i3 offers the same performance as any amd chip (yes even 6 core whatever). considering you can get massive overclocks on i3 chips, i would consider an i3 to be significantly better.

if the budget was around 400 bucks, then a low cost amd cpu would be ideal, but within that price range, it is worth it to spend over $100 on a cpu.

cool but what would be a ideal mother board for a Intel Core i5-650 Clarkdale 3.2GHz LGA 1156 73W Dual-Core Desktop Processor BX80616I5650

you would want to go with an i3 or a t2500 when it it becomes available. a dual core i5 is kinda of a waste

regardless of what you buy 3 ghz is 3 ghz... you aren't going to notice a difference between 80 fps and 100 fps... save your money and go with AMD. Then you can invest in a better graphics card if you want.

Everything you need minus HDD and video card. All for under $300. Add a HDD and video card for another $175 and that leaves you with enough to purchase your OS

Thanks to Scythen for the sig
