Thread: DK Expertise

    DK Expertise

    Do DK's need Expertise?
    Er what is the Cap?

    Blood: Depending on your preference
    Unholy: No
Frost: yes (like all melee, the cap is ~26 for raid bosses, can't they for sure if they gear for it, they may very well discard it like unholy does)

Refer to specific guides about the expertise requirements. A tanking sticky is found at the top, for DpS you might want to check elitistjerks.com for their DK guides.

Blood: No, waste of EH/Avoidance/Mitigation whilst threat is not an issue.
Unholy: STR>Hit>Haste>Expertise>Crit (Eg. reforge crit to exp if hitcapped and cannot reforge haste)
Frost: Cap expertise without gemming for it and when you're already hitcapped. (Reforge for it)
OH FOR GODS SAKE I HAVE NO IMAGINATION.

We do not suffer as much as some other melee, in that we do not lose resources for dodges and parries. Just the wasted global cooldown.

The cap is 26 for dodge, as a dps.

Uh, its the 2nd best rating stat for Unholy. Saying "not at the sacrifice of strength (gemming) or haste (ratings on gear, or reforging)" would be more accurate.

While gearing as unholy one should remember to keep the hit cap (Always just over 8% rather than just under), gem for strength at all times (using yellows when there is a significant socket bonus) and then reforging ratings with the following priority:

    Haste > Expertise > Crit

Both the Frost and Unholy EJ guides are the best you can find for any classes.
