Answers on haste thresholds for Disc tank healing [Warning: Math]
This is in response to a few people asking about haste thresholds for Disc tank healing. With the addition of GH to SoS and the throughput buff to PW:S, some have wondered what haste is necessary to maximize GH within the WS debuff.
The following is a breakdown of what it looks like for the following scenarios:
For those of you not interested in the math, the conclusion is that no currently obtainable amount of haste can squeeze another GH into the rotation without PI. The optimal haste to maximize uptime on WS without PI [with SoS] for both rotations is approx 20% haste. To add an additional GH during PI, it takes approx 20% haste [or approx 44% without PI] for PW:S->Penance->GHx3->PW:S. It is unlikely that anyone will obtain the amount of haste necessary to cast PW:S->GHx4->PW:S, even with PI, [assuming SoS and maximizing PW:S usage].
NOTE: The above conclusion is only assuming one wishes to maximize the number of PW:S casts over a period of time lapsed on a single target. I'm not suggesting to aim for any benchmark by writing this, just to provide data for people to make decisions.
The first column is the WS timer. The second column is time lapsed. The third column is the start of each cast. Enjoy!
At 0% Haste:
(15.00)--(0.00)--PW:S
(13.50)--(1.50)--Penance(BT)
(11.75)--(3.25)--GH1(BT)
(05.56)--(5.44)--GH2
(-0.94)--(7.94)--PW:S
At 20% Haste
(15.00)--(0.00)--PW:S
(13.75)--(1.25)--Penance(BT)
(12.29)--(2.71)--GH1(BT)
(06.46)--(4.54)--GH2
(00.38)--(6.62)--GH2 endcast
(00.00)--(7.00)--PW:S
