    N00b Disc User (PVP)

I know the game, been playing since vanilla, but never got into the whole pvp game on my priest, I was always pve shadow/disc.
I've tried many websites trying to look for some advice on pvp disc. From speccing to gear. I'd like to hear some advice from the PVP disc users!
What spec is pretty good to use?
What teams are a good combo for Disc Priests?
Mooncloth or Satin gear? (I think thats obvious... but I just want to be sure)
Some also say get the medallion/insignia first but again, I have 3400 honor points and want to spend them well!
Oh fellow priests help me out!
Thanks to all who could help!

im here to help ya bro. ill throw together some different specs depending on the comps you plan on rolling either in bgs or arenas.
it will take me a couple minutes. brb.

heres an offensive 2v2 spec i use: http://www.wowhead.com/talent#bbGodR...hb0o:qmoVrzVMc
heres a defensive 3v3 and bg spec i use http://www.wowhead.com/talent#bfh0dR...hb0o:qmoVrzVMz
mainly picking up that one point into twisted faith so you can stack ALL spirit gear and not worry about hit gear.

comps for 2s: mage, rogue, or lock partners.
3s: any kinda spellcleave or bleedcleave, im currently disc in a assassination/kitty comp.

gear: get the spell pen cape with the spell pen enchant, for offset gear, get all spirit gear, rings, necklace, bracers, boots, belt. get two resilience trinkets and your gona use 2 peices of satin and 3 peices of mooncloth because you will generally be the kill target and the more resilience the better.

    chest: http://www.wowpedia.org/Bloodthirsty...Mooncloth_Robe
    head: http://www.wowpedia.org/Bloodthirsty...27s_Satin_Hood
    legs: http://www.wowpedia.org/Bloodthirsty...Satin_Leggings
    gloves: http://www.wowpedia.org/Bloodthirsty...oncloth_Gloves
    shoulders: http://www.wowpedia.org/Bloodthirsty...oncloth_Mantle

doing this comp of pieces will maximize your spirit and haste gain along with 2, 2 piece set bonuses for 400 resilience twice.
i would also reforge the 3 non spirit pieces to spirit.

for gemming i always like to get the socket bonus, some debate it but its arguable.
    prismatic: int
    red: int
    yellow: int/haste
    blue: int/spirit

i tried to be pretty comprehensive, if i missed anything feel free to ask or criticize.

question about trinkets, what trinkets would work best for a disc priest? i see one +301 resil and another plus 301+ spirit, both seem really good I';d assume resil cause im not going for numbers im there to make sure noone dies.

i use the medallion of the horde and the resil trinket with a use for spell power. resil nomnomnom get it where you can.

I'm sorry to say, but the best advice at this time is: DON'T.

Disc priests are horrible at PvP right now, borderline unplayable. You have no escapes and no survivability, all your casts have loooong cast times and can be interrupted. You will be sit upon, you won't even be able to keep yourself up, even if you find a decent arena team (unlikely).
Blizzard dropped the ball big time, and while it seems they are working on disc PvE improvements, there's little hope for PvP. Better wait a few weeks or months, or you'll learn to hate your disc priest.

If you like to know more, there's a huge thread on the official WoW priest forum.

lol priests in general suck atm, with the exclusion of pve shadow, and even the theres things I think should be improved. The next patch should show some improvements.

This, I leveled my priest for PvP, then quickly realized how foolish that was and made him pve disc. Priests are in a bad spot for pvp right now. Holy is better, but not by much. The changes coming down the pipe look promising though, but without dispel protection, they still might not be enough to make them competitive.
