Quickening and stealth

Just a quick question,
Does Quickening also affect your movement speed while stealth...assuming you do not have any points in Nightstalker?
From my observations, I seem to move a lot faster in stealth with Nightstalker alone.
Opinions?

In addition, I'm reading that Quickening and Nightstalker DO stack...can anyone shed some light on this....
Also, does Assassin's Step work while stealth? I don't think it stacks with Quickening...as per the Quickening tooltip.

Nightstalker reduces the speed penalty of stealth, so yes it "stacks" with Quickening. Concerning your other question, don't use assasin's step if you're specced into quickening, its useless.

It would be an alternative to Quickening...as I cannot stand the stealth cooldown when doing pvp.
