Well i just finished putting together my new computer. I can get into the bios just fine set the boot to cd/dvd first. Pop my windows disk in restart the computer and nothing black screen with a little blinking cursor in the top left corner. I had to go back to work so i couldnt really trouble shoot it at the time. Anyone had a problem like this before the dvd drive has power and is spinning

i5 2500k
MSI MSI P67A-GD65 motherboard
CORSAIR XMS3 8g ram
WD Black 1T hard drive
LG sata dvd burner
XFX 6850
i have built a few computers before but i am far from an expert

Does it post at all? I also know that when I installed my Windows it sat at that blinking cursor for a minute or so.

turns out i had a bad sata cable going to my hard drive. i plug and replugged everything several times still nothing then i started replacing cables lol... Everything works now and its fast! I would like to say the engineer that designed those stupid push pins for the cooler needs to be fired.
