(Mind Blast topic) How does spell damage work?

So, mind blast is getting buffed by 60% base spell damage. How much will this affect its final damage, after calculating all passive bonuses and spell power? Will it be a consistent 60% increase or will it be much lower?

Trust the Patchnotes more than the datamined changes.
Patchnotes say: "roughly 50% more damage than Mindspike".
Mindspike does: "50% more damage than mindspike".

With my procs up and 3 orbs mine did hit for 40k.

+60% base damage is just that - about 700 more damage to the spell, gear is irrelevant. That part that really matters is the spellpower coefficient, which that datamined change does not show

It seems to be roughly 190%.
