Does it suck for you guys when new mmo(s) are coming out, having to police all the duplicate threads? I can't count the number of times I've seen lately,
"There is already a (insert game name here) thread, use it" lock.
so at mmo champ, new mmo = "OH crap.... time to stop the flood gates of duplicate threads and flame wars"hehehe

it would make sense if they use a program to detect names of the title and then save it to like a bookmark where they can easily just pick off non neccesary duplicate threads

No, but it is a lot of trouble for them to have threads like these popping up everyday (for them to lock)
Any questions, comments, or complaints regarding moderators belong in private messages and not new threads.

I've grown to accept that new threads will be popping up everywhere, the only one's I've locked are the people looking for DCUO friend keys because we saw about 3-5 a day up until I put that sticky topic.
As far as new games go, people are generally pretty good about not making new threads. There are only a couple out there for Rift and DCUO so we're not too worried. The Razer Sidewinder (whatever it's called) thing we saw a ton of threads for though...

I don't know about moderators but it certainly annoys me.
Same thing when there are new patch notes and you get six million threads about the same thing (Warlock Armour, Druid Movement, Mages in General).
Also it annoys me when people use more than three dots in an ellipsis and use more than one of them close to the first, except in extremely special circumstances, but that's not got much to do with this topic.
And the rest of my post totally wasn't just a vaguely veiled excuse to just post my rant about grammar because in a topic two moderators have already replied to that would be tantamount to asking for a ban.Last edited by Imnick; 2011-01-20 at 12:14 AM.
