    Halfus Help.

So apparantly this week its the Nether Scion - Slate Dragon - and Storm Rider.

    .......

    .......

    How?

With The debuff + faster striking + inturrupts... Is it even POSSIBLE to do this with only 2 tanks? If anyone could give me any kind of advice, i would greatly appreciate it.

This combo is tough on the healers, but that's about it. Release the Scion and Storm Rider first, kill them, and you can release the Slate but not kill him (or kill him, if you want). Once the first minute or two of this fight is over, it's no biggie.

Are you US or EU by the way?

PS Yes you can two tank it, just don't release all 3 at once.

Im US. And we will try that tonight. Im following a post on the WoW forums that tracks Halfus' Drakes weekly.

Release Nether/Storm at the same time and kill one dragon asap with heroism. Release Slate after Nether and Storm are dead and offtank him while you kill boss if you need more dps. Use cd's (bubble, hand of protection, pain surpression, guardian spirit & tank cds) to prevent tank deaths on furious roars if you do so.

If you can't handle nether + storm, start with storm due to shadow nova, no chance there, storm IS the one you want to start with. if you can handle 2 drakes and boss taunt rotation for debuff, try storm + nether. you also may want to have hero up at start, rather then after 2 drakes are down, since it's rather intensive at start with the tank damage and cd rotation wont be enough.

We've done all our Halfus kills with heroism at start since while the boss might go down faster if you save it for after the drakes, there's still plenty of time to kill the boss before enrage even without saving it for debuffed Halfus and the healers really do like getting to the faceroll phase fast

    ok that should be hard.
how do you deal with the novas? take 2 DDs off to kick the boss?
that way you will have less damage on the drakes.

    thats crazy.

what is your raid/tank set up?

We change ours depending on the drakes . (we're a 25m guild)

3 Weeks ago (first time raiding the new content) we 3 tanked it One tank picked up a drake and halfus, other 2 tanks picked up a drake each, only killed 2 drakes.

2 weeks ago we two tanked it, One tank picked up halfus and a drake, other tank picked up 2 drakes. Only killed 2 drakes.

last week we 2 tanked it. Tank picked up halfus, OT got 2 drakes, killed 2 drakes, tank brought up number 3 just as the 2nd one went down, then Tanked it off to the side.

all 3 weeks our mellee on the boss were pushing the 50% phase change when the last drake to be killed went down (rogues and ferals do huge amounts int his fight when they can just tunnel) due to the huge damage increase which leaves you with less to take down after the last drake drops.

Edit: we always have a mage handy to interrupt the furious roar shadow nova

We call on vent, we have a DK dps and a fury warrior, so normally we rotate interrupts. We call either "Tank next" or "DPS next" so the dps and tanks know when to swap onto Halfus to interrupt shadow nova
    I like being asian :3

Just did this 25 man, we used 3 tanks, I took the boss, our feral druid took storm and our warrior took nether. We didnt use heroism on the drakes and just took down storm and then released slate.

Just make sure to switch with one of the add tanks, myself and the feral druid did it for our kill.

The stun debuff from slate is super helpful if your healer mana is low in halfus burn phase, since it can interrupt his roar and shadow nova.

Our group had this and managed to kill it. our comp was
    Tank - War/DK
    Heal - HPriest, HPaladin, RSham
DPS - Hunter, mage, lock, rogue, DK

Strat - Release Storm and Nether. Melee on halfus full time interrupting, ranged burn a drake then burn other. tanks switching every 6 or so stacks. Just very healing intensive = /

Pull out storm and scion, heroism storm down then finish off scion, this should result in a win easily.
