Lack of ip addresses actually noticable?

Since my internet has been VERY slow lately and everything loads really slowly. Some web pages even say that theyre no longer availible.

So whens Ipv6 coming? And what will actually happen when it comes. ISP's will just require you to buy a new connection?

    http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/IPv6

It's been here for about 10-12 years, we just talked about this in my MIS class yesterday. Its just not being used much yet it seems. But even with it here, its seems not every, or many at all, have switched over yet and there still some things going on since its not just a simple switch over.
Start by assuming that everything you've ever known is a lie.....

Your internet problems have nothing to do with IPv4 or IPv6.

For most users the change will be transparent. Once enabled, your modem will pull a new IPv6 address. Your router will likely remain NAT'd, unless you specifically change it, so your internal IPs will still be 192.168.x.x or 10.x.x.x IPv4 LAN addresses. The end result is that the only time you'd notice the change is if you needed to contact a system by IP specifically (ie running a traceroute to diagnose connection issues).

Most people seem to interpret IPv6 as an upgrade to IPv4. In some aspects it is, In many other aspects it's not. Neither specifically determines the speed of your connection. Both protocols satisfy the same need in different ways.
