    Holy Priest stat priority

Spirit, Int, Crit, Haste, Mastery. For a Holy Priest at 85, I honestly do not know what the priority for stats is right now. I'm going to start leveling her from 80 to 85 soon so I'd like to get some input on my priest, and what stats she should be going for, in terms of gear, gems and enchants. Any help would be appreciated, thank you.

It depends on your playstyle, but int is n1, spirit until about 2500 and then mastery or haste. (own choice there)

^ pretty much, although I personally think you'll be more satisfied with haste over mastery.

Haste for heroics, mastery for Raids imo

Why is mastery good for holy priests?
It seems that its just so low on that extra little hot u get, or?

because Mastery is usually second or 3rd on our healing in heavy AE fights

mastery increases total output by at 10% at the very least, typically more

Intellect > Spirit (to "comfort level") > Haste > Mastery > Excess Spirit > Crit

Mastery's good for a little trickle of output, helping top people off. Gearing for it is effectively blanket HoTing, and weakly at that. It looks great on a meter, but when the excrement hits the rotary impellor, it's Haste that saves lives.

well if youre tank healing its usually around 1100-1500 healing EVERY SECOND.
thats pretty sweet because that means 1500 hps!

for raid healing, id go more crit, hast will just make you oom too much.
    hope i helped.

Incorrect. Haste only provides the means to OOM faster. The rest is on you.

For heroics though I've found haste to be king.

youre right, but by that logic whats the point it stacking haste if youre just gonna stand around ... why have the faster cast times at all?

you should never stack crit as a holy priest. You get enough from Int. Haste=Mastery really. stack haste until you feel comfortable with cast speed and renew ticks. Then go to mastery. Like Arcsecant said its on you whether or not your gonna go OOM. Your gonna be really upset if you listen to eotix and your doing more overhealing then actual healing and get kicked from raid because your heals are to slow

Thanks for the replies. So how would I gem my Holy Priest then? Mostly Red Int Gems?

    match your socket bonuses.
i tend to go int/spirit gems in blues and reds.
    and int/haste in yellow

  16. #16
40 int red 20 int/20 spirit blue and int/haste or mastery for yellow (again depending on how you feel about your haste)

  17. #17
    Alright thanks a lot.

Int, Int, and more Int, unless it's a good socket bonus. Also room for tweaking depending on which meta you run, but really that's all there is to it.

Exactly what I go by. IGNORE CRIT. A lot of ppl argue mastery over haste but I've found better results from haste.

While others find better results from mastery.

They're essentially equal priority-wise. One should stack what one prefers like many others have said.
