I recently bought a new graphics card that is a significant upgrade to my current, only to find out that my current PSU doesn't have any power cables to provide the card with what it needs.

Because my PC is store bought I can't find my PSU anywhere on the internet. I do know that it's HP and only outputs about 300w whereas the new card needs a minimum of 400w.
I'm just wondering whether different PSU's have different connectors and whether I need to adjust my purchase to match what connections I have on my motherboard?
This may sound like a stupid question but bear in mind that I'm not completely literate with computers. I do know how to put it together and stuff though...
Also, any recommendations for a new PSU? I live in Europe, if that makes any difference
