The "Mercader" PvP spec

For those of you familiar with that epic epic pvper, he just realesed a short tutorial/walkthrough of how he plays his mutilate rogue in PvP. I used to play with this spec, due to the extra mutilate and garrote damage http://wowtal.com/#k=Y-taz2JUn.aei.rogue.RYUavl. But he posted a spec using this, trading 20% mutilate and garrote damage for the 6% damage reduction and the 4% per tick recup talents, which keeps you up insanely well. Best assassination spec, imo. Lots of damage output and really good damage in-take. lacks too much mobility for my liking.

But I'll always be Sub, lol.

I use something similar to this for leveling simply because I expect to be ganked a lot - and my suspicions pay are usually spot on.

I skip Ruthlessness and pick up 2/2 Blackjack and only go 1/2 Deadly Brew in order to pick up CttC because a 100% uptime on SnD is pretty easy when going from mob to mob, and then if another player jumps me my damage is already ramped up.

Most fights start with a Sap > Garrote > Rupture > Mut > Recup > Shiv > SnD > Shiv > Envenom just to get everything rolling, and then it's pretty easy to keep them all rolling between mobs. I tend to skip Kidney Shot just to have it available in case I'm jumped. It's definitely not the most efficient way to go about things, but anything that lets me kill a guildie (my main is opposite-faction) or forego a corpse run matters more to me.

If you're on a PvE server then most of this won't apply to you, but if you're like I am and playing opposite faction just for the faction imbalance (outnumbered 1:3 on my Rogue) and world PvP, then this will really pay off.

I strongly recommend to any of Mercaders fans that they do not follow his tips or specs, as hes a pretty bad rogue.
From playing with this guy throughout half of WOTLK, I can fully back up with my claim with most of the Thaurissans help that this guy is pretty damn bad.
He only shows his wins and spends hours and hours getting those wins.
There are far more rogues to look up too then this guy, for instance; Reckful or Woundmanx.
Mercader may provide good tips for a new player, but the more you look into it, you'll realize how bad he really is.

Yikes speccing blackjack and cttc and ignoring recup. You must either have a healer follow you all the time, never pvped before, or just be really bad at pvp. Either way please no one listen to this guys spec for all the rogues in the world. Look up woundman (he changed back and is now gnome) and reckful for good specs. Mercs spec is a great start for rogues and hes def not a elite rogue but hes def good and understands his class as well as pvp which its.obvious maybe rogues like the cttc and.blackjack crew are lacking.
