I was always told by a wedding DJ that heavy metal bands would fail terribly if they tried to make slow meaningful songs. I beg to differ and wish I could slap him in the face.

First example that comes to mind
This songs come to mind immediately
Life is short Glory is eternal
What a statement to make. History has proven that statement wrong over and over and over again.
Just a few examples from DECADES ago (from now-legendary metal bands):
1. Megadeth - A Tout Le Monde
2. Metallica - Nothing Else Matters (or the first half of Fade to Black for that matter)
3. Pantera - Cemetery Gates, Planet Caravan (itself a remake of a Sabbath tune)
I could go on and on... what an ignorant statement.

Why would even a DJ talk to someone about meaningful songs?
