Linking to mmo champ

Hi I was just starting building a website for my guild and I was wondering if it was ok to put a button on my site with your logo that links directly to your site? I don't know if this is something you even have to ask to do or not but I figured I would just to make sure. Thanks so much and i look forward to hearing from you soon.

You should probably use the "contact us" link at the bottom of each page to ask about this instead of making a thread. It would probably give you a more direct response and will definitely be noticed by some level of administrator.

Just do it. Make sure you aren't hot linking their logo (i.e. you host the file on your own server, stealing bandwith is bad).

Not sure what you mean by hot linking their logo. I just google searched mmo champion logo and resized it to fit my column and put it in there to link directly back to the front page of mmo champ. I did put the logo on my server but i dont see how that is stealing bandwidth. I'm a super rookie at building sites and kind of learning as I go at the moment.

No no, putting the image on your server is the way to do it. So <img src="http://www.yoursever.com/mmo-champion-logo.png"> would be the way to do it. Where as <img src="http://static.mmo-champion.com/images/tranquilizing/logo.png"> would cause your site to load MMO Champions image file every time someone loaded the page with it. As you can imagine the more traffic your site received the more of MMO Champions bandwith you would use.

In addition if MMO Champion were to crash people loading your site wouldn't be able to load the image.

If you put the image file on your server, you're fine! The problem Chimpzilla's talking about is when you use the image directly from another site (like < img src="http://www.mmo-champion.com/blahblah.jpg" />) instead of uploading a new copy yourself.
