    5% crit or Agi/Str?

So i've been using a Wolf as pet in the raid composition our guild normally uses, for the 5% crit buff. But we're also missing the Agi/Str buff, so i'm considering switching to a Cat.

    Heres the raid composition:

    Paladin(Prot)
    Warrior(Prot)

    Paladin(Holy)
    Priest(Holy/Disc)
    Shaman(Resto)

    Hunter(SV)
    Rogue(Assasin)
    Priest(Shadow)
    Druid(Balance)
    Lock(Destro)

Does anyone have an opinion if i should continue to use the Wolf, or to switch to the Cat? Thanks

you have a Warrior and a Shaman who can provide Str/agi without losing any redundancy on buffs ( priest has Fort, and Paladins have devo aura for a Stoneskin equivalent). You Should continue to provide crit via the Wolf.

Using Femaledwarf PTR settings, I came up with this for my current gear.

    These numbers are my baseline.
All buffs / debuffs enabled SV: 22,919.26 dps
All buffs / debuffs enabled MM: 23,953.79 dps

    Debuffs:
No 12% armor reduction (Raptor) SV: -277.53 dps
No 12% armor reduction (Raptor) MM: -620.50 dps

No 30% bleed damage (Hyena) SV: no change
No 30% bleed damage (Hyena) MM: -437.17 dps

No 4% physical (Ravager) SV: -282.57 dps
No 4% physical (Ravager) MM: -631.77 dps (thankfully the Ravager is fixed in 4.0.6)

I don't know if this is a bug or something I'm doing wrong
No 8% spell damage (Wind Serpent) SV: no change
No 8% spell damage (Wind Serpent) MM: no change

    Buffs:
No 155 Agi/Str Buff (Cat) SV: -1,919.33 dps
No 155 Agi/Str Buff (Cat) MM: -1,697.05 dps

No 5% Crit (Wolf) SV: -1,014.1 dps
No 5% Crit (Wolf) MM: -1,084.88 dps

Yeah, but the warrior or the shaman would have to go DPS to bring the buff. Or am i wrong?

your warrior should use the agi/str shout. since you have a priest for the stamina, you won't lose anything that way. and no, you don't need to be dps specced to do this.

also, the 5% are (as far as i know) raidwide for all people, not only for melee/hunter. so your caster dps and healers will also get a pretty nice benefit from 5% crit.

There's a handy raid comp tool that this site has to help with similar questions also. Its fun to play around with too.

The raid comp calculator is at http://raidcomp.mmo-champion.com/

FYI, shamans and warriors can bring str/agi.

To continue with redundancy, Warriors and Shamans can bring Str/Agi buff and they don't need to be DPS-specced.

For raids, this is what you need: RaidChecklist.

Very good tool whose link I can't provide, but it's over Curse.
