Priest Solo Capabilities

Out of interest, would you consider trying it as Disc oppsed to Shadow? Do you think it might go easier - as you mention, you spend most of the time out of Shadowform, so you lose the bonus Dmg reduction, etc... Also, im wondering if Smite spam would be enough to keep you alive hwen combined with the bonus healing from Disc tree... plus, mastery will help as will much larger shields, reflective shields, focused will, etc.... Just wondering if you'll OOM without Masochism.

Ive been reading quite a few of these over the last couple of days, yet to give all of them a try... but:

- Slabhide - tacts on trash is to nuke Millhouse and kite melee adds, anything else to it??

- VoA - what bosses are soloable? reading Wowhead, looks like Archavon is... and reading hte abilities, I would guess that Koralon and Toravon are also doable. Any comments?

Koralon and Toravon hits like trucks tho I haven't tried them in a while. But Archavon is very easy.

Near impossible as disc.

1. You will OOM very quickly without Masochism.
2. You will not beat enrage timer.

Of course you are welcome to try.

It's nothing special but I might aswell say it for those who wonder:
VP normal can be soloed all the way as shadow with thrash beeing the only thing that's even close to hard.
If trash gets to much, see to it that you kill atleast one of the mobs and then jump the edge to get ported to the beginning. Continue untill everything is dead.

Yogg+1+2 may be doable. But I am really doubting you can do Firefighter and Heartbreaker.

For Mimiron, all vehicles, and little bots get +30% health and damage (from wowwiki). Which definitely means you might have some problems for phase 1 and phase 3. And as for XT-002, Assuming you take 1 minute to break the heart, you still have 9 minutes left to DPS down 7500k health with no more heart phases. With XT's +15% damage buff, and the extra gravity/light bomb mechanics, it is very hard to beat the enrage.

But then again, if you can pull these 2 off as a priest, then kudos!

Mimiron phases 1 & 3 are faceroll anyway, only hard part is 4
XT's damage is buffed significantly, but you need only ~14k dps to beat enrage..if melee attacks are survivable it will be no problem

Hello, guys. I'm back to soloing after a long break, so I came back to Ulduar and tried to solo whatever was not killed during 4.2
My progress so far:

Before 4.3:
XT (easy)
Razorscale (easy)

Auriaya (medium, but if you can kill cats it's a free kill, proper pull is a key to the fight)
Hodir (medium)
Mimiron (medium)
Yogg-saron (easy, really one of the easiest bosses)

Nice job on Freya, I was actually doing Freya attempts yesterday until trash respawned, and one of the elders respawned too, which locked me out of the instance. Unless I find someone who is unsaved to kill that Elder again, I wont be able to try Freya till next raid reset.

It doesn't matter though, I wasn't doing too well on it anyway. Furthest I've gotten was 3 out of 6 waves (wiped on 4th)

I just fail at Soloing ability....

Tried Sarth - got nailed by trash at start and gave up straight away

Slabhide - admittedly I only tried once… wiped a dozen times before I figured out best way to take down trash, after I got a knack of killing one mob, resetting instance, killing another, resetting, etc… I managed to kite the boulder man and get to slabhide. Got past first Air phase then he landed and spanked me!

Marrowgar – wiped a dozen times on trash… trying to be clever with an invis potion perhaps wasn’t as clever as I thought! Tried to down him once but my heals just couldn’t keep up with his damage.

Is their anything wrong with my gear setup that is stopping me from progressing?

mostly RF/378 gear... I dont run normal DS so will not be able to upgrade anything really... could get some PVP pieces if you think it would make a difference.

I should probably add that I am partially in Spirit gear (I amended my reforging to spirit for healing purposes), so my Haste should be higher and my Hit should be lower under normal circumstances!

Slabhide is really easy you can just spam flash heal and dps him while hes in air phase.

On the trash First trash mob get millhouse to 50% then run out
Run back in
Run past the first and run past the second so you stand between second and third start dpsing millhouse then pull third pack to millhouse @ 50% = He runs past third pack and goes to boss directly
Die
Run in run past all packs then run past first boss then you can sneak past the first giant mind sooth the 3 flayers run past them and pull the second giant kill him near boss = 5 stacks evangelism and 3 orbs

Josefina - appreciate the tips... and I must admit, this sounds loads easier than me DPSing each trash pack... How do you sneak past the first giant? I could manage it with an invis potion, but his patrol goes right down to the flayers (two pairs), i am not sure where you can 'hide' while he pats back up without standing on them?

(love to see a vid of you path if you have one)

Also, the Giant was a wrecking crew.... when i first tried DPSing him he took me down (he was at 60% when i died) admittadly it was when my invis pot ran out and i was standing underneath him. I think i could kite the first for 50% and finish him off at the archeology spot... not sure if I could kite the other past the slayers though, unless you suggest kiting him all way down to boss?? Do you stand still and eat the pain while spamming flash?? and keeping DoTs up??

I am pulling them before he runs towards them, but he stops and sits with them and then stays there

Thanks for tips on Giants - i forgot about their mechanics, although, i did feel the damage was coming more from their mellee attacks opposed to Quake... I will have to check that one! still partial kiting them will still work well!

the first room on the left has two slayers in it doesn't it?? although, im fairly comfortable i can take those down... i solo them with an 82 mage, so DOTing them with an 85 would be a piece of cake.

Could you take down the packs quite easliy by MCing a mob and watching him get pounded (like the Earthwardens?)
