Weird?

This is not a bad thing, but I am wondering how this is even possible. When I unplug my computer at night, the modem light labeled Link stops blinking, which I assume is the internet working. When I replug it in the morning, without even turning the computer actually back on, it starts blinking again.. How is this possible? If there is no power on my computer, how can it start blinking? Perhaps my logic is flawed, any help appreciated.

The computer is off, but the power supply is still plugged in and powering indicator lights. If you turn the switch on the back of the power supply to "off" all of those indicator lights will turn off too.

Some devices get standby power when the PSU is plugged in, so that they can wake the computer in certain circumstances.
