Final cost was ~2700 US dollars. Just a quick tip for those looking to build a new system, definitely start shopping around about a month or so in advance. Especially on newegg set it up in your wishlist and just check that shit every day. I easily saved ~400-500 dollars just in various deals that popped up on newegg over about a month's time of researching a few things.

Everything works beautifully, it's super quiet. If you have even the lowest of volume coming out of a speaker you can't hear the comp at all. With fully maxed out settings floating above the stormwind auction house on a fairly high pop server I'll get ~70ish fps. That's with shadows and everything fully maxed. In SC2 on extreme settings I've run some pretty high unit counts and had zero fps drop. Everything has been great with any other game I've thrown at it so far. Upgrading from my 4.5 year old prebuilt to this has been like being reborn again. LOL.

Waiting a week or so before I do any overclocking to let the thermal paste get properly broken in, but at stock settings with a fresh paste I idle at ~31C, haven't checked under load yet though.

I know the picture quality sucks and I don't have a picture of my whole setup, but I'll get one. Just want to say thanks again for all the info/input/advice I got from the various users here.

I really loathe that case D=
Anyway, you claim to have bought a HX 850, where you actually 'eature an AX 850 in the images?

(my laptop has broken keyboard, no hate!)

Hm, it is indeed an AX 850. Fixed that.

I love the case though, haha. But I could definitely see how it wouldn't be for everyone. I like the rugged look of it though.

His card will run the majority of the games available today at max settings as it is. 580 or 60 in sli would be overkill, i.e. unneccessary. I guess I could say the same for the SSD but whatever.

    Congratulations on your new PC.

I've just noticed one thing, though. I got Cooler Master HAF X as well, however my side fan doesn't have a red LED or anything, so did you replace the side stock fan with another one that has red LED?

    Thanks.

"SSD: Corsair Performance 3 (599.99)" Holy moly that's a lot of dough. Well, for that particular model it's probably cheap, but still.. wow! Could've bought two smaller SSD's or just stick to one small one in my opinion. :P

Anyways grats on the machine. Pretty beast, Kinda looks like mine (HAF 912 case) but mine's obviously way cooler because my LED fans are blue (except the one in the front which is red because that's apparently the color cooler master cases come with)

Looks the same as every other i5 or i7 system built in an HAF922, but looks good either way.

Should last a good year and a half before showing any real age, and another year before it's bordering needing an upgrade!

Looks awesome man, really cool of you to come back with results and pics after you built it. Most people don't do that and I think it's a class move, congratz on the new rig.....

Yeah I agree that seeing what people built after working up a parts list on the forums is really cool.
