Red light on motherboard always on?

My mobo - ASUS M4A88T-V EVO/USB3 AM3 AMD 880G USB 3.0 HDMI ATX AMD Motherboard

I read that it's just on because the PSU has power, but I figured I'd ask to make sure I'm safe.

Yup, just an indicator light letting you know theres power going to the MoBo

asus p8p67 has a similar green light. a red light however means some part of the board failed during POST

Normally the LED should be labeled on the motherboard. Check what it says.

The red light usually just signifies power.
